Claire Lacombe était une femme libre, s’etait prête psychologiquement à accueillir la Révolution, à y participer avec conviction. Le 25 juillet 1792, vêtue en amazone, elle lut une adresse à l’Assemblée Législative, s’offrant pour aller combattre les tyrans. Elle demanda l’application de la Constitution et renouvellement de la Convention Nationale, épuration des administrations, responsabilité des ministres et fonctionnaires, arrestation des suspects, jugement des Girondins.
Pauline Léon, fille d’un fabricant de chocolat, avait une forte personnalité. Pour elle, la Révolution etait l’espoir de voir le sort des femmes amélioré et leurs qualités de vie renouvelés. En juillet 1789, elle monta sur les barricades et excita à la révolte, en février 1791 elle brisa avec des amies un buste de Lafayette. En 1792, elle presenta à l’Assemblée une adresse revendiqant le droit de s’armer et le août elle fut dans les rangs du bataillon de sa section. Elle demanda ensuite l’exécution du roi Louis ⅩⅥ. Elle demanda, pour les femmes, le droit de se procurer des piques, des pistolets, des sabres, même des fusils.
Parmi des femmes les plus actives de la Révoluion, Etta Palm d’Aelders avait laissé un nom d’autant plus intéressant qu’elle n’était pas Française. Elle était la première qui ornait ses discours de prises de position féministe. Elle conseillait aux femmes françaises d’imiter le patriotisme et les vertus des dames romaines. En juillet 1791, elle publia une appel aux Françaises sur la régénération des moeurs et la nécessité de l’influence des femmes dans un gouvernement libre. Elle envoya une adresse à l’Assemblée où elle soulignait l’utilité des femmes dans un gouvernement libre et la nécessité de les y associer.

Claire Lacombe was a liberal woman, was ready psychologically to welcome the Revolution, to there participate with conviction. The 25 July 1792, putting on like an Amazon, she read an address to Legislative Assembly, offering to go combat against tyrants. She demanded the application of the Constitution and renewal of the National Convention, purification of administrations, responsibility of ministers and officers, arrest of suspects, judgement of Girondins.
Pauline Leon, daughter of a chocolate manufacturer, had a strong personality. For her, the Revolution was the hope of seeing the sort of women ameliorated and their qualities of life renovated. In July 1789, she mounted on barricades and excited the revolt, in February 1791 she broke with friends a bust of Lafayette. In 1792, she presented to the Assembly an address claiming the right to arm oneself and in August she was in the ranks of troops of her section. She demanded then the execution of the king Louis ⅩⅥ. She demanded, for women, the right to procure pikes, pistols, sabers, even rifles.
Among the most active women of the Revolution, Etta Palm d’Aelders left her name behind her so much the more interesting since she was not French woman. She was the first woman who adorned her addresses with taking a feminist position. She recommended to French women to imitate the patriotism and virtues of Roman dames. In July 1791, she published an appeal to French women on the regeneration of morals and the necessity of the influence of women in a free government. She sent an address to the Assembly where she emphasized the necessity of women to associate there.
