김정한 소설의 소수자 의식과 동아시아 민중 연대 (The minority consciousness and the possibility of solidarity among East Asian people of Kim Jeong-han’s novels)

초록

본고는 김정한의 소설에 나타난 소수자 의식과 동아시아 민중 연대의 가능성을 해방 이전과 이후의 역사적 모순의 연속성이라는 관점에서 논의한것이다.
첫째, 김정한의 소설에서 중심 권력으로부터 소외된 위치에 있는 소수자들의 행동과 의식에 주목했다. 이는 농민 혹은 민중으로 대변되어 온 식민지계급구조의 희생자들이 1960년대 이후 근대화의 이면에 은폐된 국가 권력의지배 구조 안에서 어떻게 그 희생을 영속화할 수밖에 없었는지를 밝히고자한 것이다. 그리고 이러한 작가의 소수자 의식이 특정 국가와 민족에 대한혐오와 비판에 목표가 있는 것이 아니라, 인간으로서 누려야 할 최소한의 가치와 행복을 공유해야 한다는 아주 근본적인 세계관에 바탕을 두고 있음을명확히 확인하고자 했다.
둘째, 이러한 점에서 그의 소설에서 로컬리티의 실현을 국가나 민족의 차원을 넘어서 인간 해방과 평화의 장소성으로 접근함으로써, 민족주의를 넘어한일 관계의 새로운 지점으로 읽어내고자 했다. 이는 김정한의 소설을 지역주의적이고 민족주의적으로 분석해온 그동안의 일반적인 평가가 지닌 한계를 넘어서, 지역과 민족을 거점으로 한 보편적 세계성의 실현에 궁극적인 방향성이 있었음을 주목한 것이다. 이러한 문제의식은 1960년대 중반 한일협정과 베트남 파병이라는 충격적인 사건과 직접적으로 관련이 있는데, 그 결과오키나와를 매개로 식민지 시대 위안부와 강제징용의 역사를 다시 불러왔고, 대동아공영권에 사로잡힌 제국의 시선에 희생되었던 아시아 식민지 공동체문제에 관심을 갖기 시작했던 것이다.
이런 점에서 김정한의 소수자 의식을 국가와 민족의 경계를 넘어선 민중연대의 차원에서 동아시아적 시각으로 확대해서 논의하였다. 이는 앞으로 김정한 소설 연구가 지역적 로컬리티의 차원을 넘어서 보편적 세계성을 확보하는 데 있어서 중요한 문제제기가 될 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

This study is aimed to discuss minority consciousness and the possibility of solidarity among East Asian people found in Kim Jeong-han’s novels in the perspective of continued historic irony before and after the emancipation.
First, this author pays attention to the behavior and consciousness of minorities alienated from the central authority in Kim Jeong-han’s novels.
It is intended to understand how the farmers or victims of the hierarchal structure in the colony represented as the people had no other way but to continue their sacrifice in the 1960's within the ruling structure of the national power concealed behind the modernization. Also, this researcher intends to make it clear that the writer’s minority consciousness is not for hatred or criticism towards a particular country or race but grounded on a very basic view of the world that we should share the least value and happiness men have to enjoy as a human being.
Second, in this sense, his novels approach the realization of locality not just in the dimension of a nation or race but through human emancipation and the placeness of peace, and this researcher intends to read them not from nationalism but as a new point in Korea-Japan relationship. This is to go beyond the limitations of general evaluation that has been made about Kim Jeong-han’s novels saying they are regionalistic and nationalistic and to focus on the fact that they are ultimately oriented to realizing universal globality taking the region and race as a foothold.
This critical mind is directly associated with the Korean-Japanese Agreement and the shocking incident of dispatching to Vietnam in the mid-1960's, and this is why he recalled the history of forced draft and comfort women in the era of colonization taking Okinawa as a medium and also people began to pay attention to the matter of a colonized community in Asia sacrificed by the eye of the empire captured by the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere.
Therefore, Kim Jeong-han’s minority consciousness is discussed here by extending the viewpoint up to East Asia in the perspective of solidarity among the people beyond the country and the people. It is expected that research on Kim Jeong-han’s novels will make a crucial presentation of a matter afterwards to secure universal globality beyond the dimension of regional locality.
