東華 李海應의 燕行詩 硏究 (A Study on Yeonhaengsi of Donghwa Lee Hae-eung)

초록

동화 이해응(1775-1825)은 1803년에 서장관 서장보를 따라 연행을 하고 견문기록으로 『계산기정』을 남겼다. 『계산기정』은 다른 연행록과 달리 권1에서 권4까지 견문과 체험을 445수의 한시로 포착하였다. 그러나 그간의 연구들에서는 북경에서의 체험이나 견문에 대한 연희시와 관희시, 문화와 문인들과의 교류 등 지식과 정보에 초점을 맞추어 개인적인 정회와 심정을 표출한 서정적 한시에 대해서는 면밀한 고찰이 거의 이루어지지 않았다.
이해응은 쇠락한 가문의 사족으로 관직에 진출하지 못하였으나 해박한 지식과 시적 재능으로 문학적인 자부심이 대단하였다. 그는 연행노정에서 오는 견문과 체험, 객수, 고향에 대한 그리움이 담긴 연행시를 산문과 시의 구성으로 조화롭게 서술하였다. 시인이자 문학가로서 이해응의 면모를 살피기 위해 연행시를 壯遊의 시적 흥취, 懷古의 感慨, 對淸의식의 形象化으로 나누어 고찰하였다. 장유의 시적 흥취에서는 요동벌판과 연행노정에서 오는 기상과 설렘, 번민 등을 시적 흥취로 승화하였다.
회고의 감개에서는 연행노정에서 마주한 역사유적지에서 지명의 유래, 관련 고사를 시적재료로 활용하여 간결하게 형상화하였다. 송도를 지나며 고려의 성과 못, 누대 등을 둘러보고 영고성쇠의 역사를 회고하였다. 임·병양란과 관련된 유적지에서는 관련 인물들의 고사와 후세사람들이 보인 반응을 그렸고 대릉하를 지날 때는 영령들의 넋을 달래주기도 하였다.
대청의식의 형상화에서는 청나라에 대한 이해응의 내면 의식이 어떻게 구현되었는지 살폈다. 그는 청나라가 들어서자 중국의 문화와 풍습이 비루하게 변하였음을 예악과 의관, 백성들의 풍속 등을 들어 우리나라와 대조하고 불편한 속내를 드러내었다. 한편 은근히 우리 문화에 대한 자부심을 나타내었다. 그리고 청에 대한 반감으로 조공 바치는 사신이 된 자신을 전횡과 백이ㆍ숙제의 절의를 들어 부끄럽다고 표현하였다.

영어초록

In 1803, Donghwa Lee Hae-eung(1775-1825) traveled Yanjing following Seojangguan Seo Jeong-bo and left a record of his visit, 『Gyesangijeong』. Unlike other Yeonghaengrok(Yanjing Travelogue), 『Gyesangijeong』 captured his visits and experiences in 445 Chinese poems from Volume 1 to Volume 4. However, existing studies have focused on knowledge and information such as Yeonhoesi and Gwanhoesi about experiences and visits in Beijing, and exchanges between culture and writers, and little careful consideration has been given to Chinese poems which express personal emotions and feelings.
Although Lee Hae-eung was unable to enter the government office as a family member of a declining family, he had great literary pride with his extensive knowledge and poetic talent. He balanced Yeonghaengsi(燕行詩) with prose and poetry, which contain the knowledge, experience, nostalgia, and longing for his hometown. To examine Lee Hae-eung's aspect as a poet and writer, this study examined his poems by dividing them into the poetic excitement of great travel, the nostalgic feelings, and the manifestation of consciousness against Qing Dynasty. In the poetic excitement of great travel, he sublimated high spirits, excitement, and anxiety from the fields of Yodong and the journey to Yanjing into poetic excitement.
In the nostalgic feelings, he briefly depicted the origin of geographical names and related ancient history of historical sites encountered on the journey to Yanjing using poetic motifs. Passing through Songdo, he toured Goryeo's castle, ponds and towers, and looked back on the rise and fall of the history. At the historical sites related to the two Manchu Invasions, he depicted old stories of the involved people and the reactions of the future generations, and when passing through the Daereungha, he comforted the souls of the dead.
In the manifestation of consciousness against Qing Dynasty, it was possible to look into how his inner consciousness of Qing Dynasty was embodied. Upon entering Qing Dynasty, he showed his discomfort about degrading changes in Chinese culture and customs by comparing the traditional music, clothing, and customs of the people with those of Korea, and showed his pride in his own culture. He described himself as ashamed for becoming an envoy to pay tributes to Qing, citing the integrity of Jeon Hoeng, Baek Yi, and Sook Je.
