교육대학교의 국악교육과정 연구 (A Study on Korean traditional music curriculum at National University of Education)

초록

국악교육의 중요성은 강조되고 있지만 초등교원양성기관인 교육대학교에서의 국악교육 환경은 점점 어려워지고 있다. 그런 상황에서 각 교육대학교는 효과적인 국악교육과정 운영을 위한 노력을 경주하고 있으며, 일부 교육대학교는 국악교육의 정상화를 위한 적극적인 방법으로 국악교육 전공의 대학원 과정을 개설하여 운영하고 있다. 이러한 점에서 현재 각 교육대학교의 학부과정과 국악교육 전공 대학원 과정의 국악교육과정을 전반적으로 살펴볼 필요성이 제기되었으며, 본 연구 결과 다음의 사실을 알 수 있었다.
먼저 전주교육대학교와 진주교육대학교, 춘천교육대학교의 학부의 국악교육과정을 살펴본 결과, 대부분 전체학생을 대상으로 2학점(2시간)의 강좌를 통해 국악교육의 전반적인 내용을 강의하고, 심화과정으로 음악교육과 학생들을 대상으로 대개 3학점(3시간) 2강좌를 강의하며, 일부 학교 상황에 따라 전체 혹은 일부 학생들을 대상으로 국악실기를 강의하는 것으로 나타났다.
다음으로 살펴본 전주교육대학교 대학원 국악교육 전공과정의 특징은 개인전공실기 능력 강화와 수준에 맞춘 지도이며, 이를 위해 5학기동안 지속적으로 실습하는 형태로 이루어져 있다. 진주교대 국악교육 과정의 특징은 개인의 전공 실기능력과 국악지도에서 필요한 다양한 과목들을 제시하여 학생들의 선택권을 높이고 종합적인 국악지도능력을 배양하는 과정으로 논의되었으며, 춘천교대 국악교육 과정의 특징은 현장에서의 국악합주 능력 향상으로, 이를 위해 다양한 국악기를 체험하고 이를 실습하는 형태로 이루어져 있다는 점 등이 제시되었다.

영어초록

This research looked at Korean traditional music curriculum of Jeonju National University of Education, Chinju National University of Education and Chuncheon National University of Education.
First of all, a table below shows the Korean traditional music curriculum at Jeonju National University of Education, and Chinju National University and Chuncheon National University of Education.
To sum up, 3 National University of Education teach Korean traditional music for all students overall giving 2 credits (2 hours). Moreover, they teach Korean traditional music for students in Department of music education giving 3 credits (3 hours) with having 2 lectures. Some of universities have a lecture of Korean traditional music for all or some of students to teach Korean traditional music practical skill.
Next table shows that undergraduate studies at Jeonju National University of Education, Jinju National University of Education, Choonchun National University of Education.
Postgraduate school of Jeonju National University of Education established Korean traditional music education curriculum in 2009. Its curriculum feature is improving personal practical skill and teaching students at individual level. For doing this, lectures will be held for 5 semesters and keep practicing. New 1 year students will decide which major (i.e. kayageum, keomungo, haegeum, pansori, Korean traditional music composition) they want to study after having an interview. Afterwards, they would keep practicing their individual major for 5 semesters. To consider individual ability and personal issue, there will be possibility that student can be able to study gayageum for 2 semesters and study haegeum for the rest of semesters as joint hours.
The feature of Korean traditional music education at Chinju National University of Education, which was established in 2011, is focusing on individual major practical still and teaching ability and it seems it is improving. To improve Korean traditional music education curriculum, they have a lecture of <Korean traditional instruments and its teaching method> for 3 semesters. Consequently, students can improve personal practical skills during this curriculum.
Especially, this curriculum suggests other majors to learn for teaching Korean traditional music education. Therefore, it gives student the right of choice and it might be able to develop teaching ability of Korean traditional music overall.
A feature of curriculum of Korean traditional music at Choonch대n National university of Education, which was established in 2011, is trying to focus on ability of Korean traditional music ensemble. To improve students’ ensemble skills, Chooncheon University provides students to have more experience with a variety of instruments and practice them.
New 1st year students are firstly, experience with base instruments such as kayageum, keomungo, piri, daeguem and haegeum. Afterwards, choosing one of those instruments and teaching them to develop individuals’ practical skill.
I hope that this research helps national university of education and postgraduate school of national university of education, where it has set Korean traditional music education curriculum or not to improve the way of teaching Korean traditional music effectively.
