초록

The city of the Song Dynasty is a representative “espace strié(홈 패인 공간)” governed by the emperor in a “arborescence system(수목적 체계)” state. However it has the characteristic that “espace lisse(매끄러운 공간)” coexists together. In addition, due to the development of commerce, the city has developed into a consumption-oriented space.
The information created in the Song Dynasty city was organically linked with the common people who were the subjects of information transmission, the lower Literati who were their hub, Washe(瓦舍) and Goulan(勾欄) that were the platform, and the books that could be called the medium of information transmission. As a result, the city's information exchange network was formed and activated. This exerted enough power to improve the quality of society. First, as a city member of the Song Dynasty, the influence of the newly emerged common people on society was expanded. Rather than accepting the information delivered by the ruling class, they had a self-consciousness and delivered and spread the information by themselves. Second, it helped spread ‘soft power’. The popular culture of the Song Dynasty developed in earnest and on a large scale, which spread the class to enjoy cultural activities. In addition, popular culture changed more professionally and at a higher level by absorbing the ruling class in reverse, resulting in the creation and development of a new literary genre.
As a result, the information exchange network formed mainly by the common people in Song Dynasty cities served as a factor that stimulated the quality improvement of the entire society. It also had a significant impact on the development of popular literature in the Ming Dynasty.
