The study examines the planning of the interim government by Song Chin-Woo and the Korea Democratic Party in the changed situation immediately after 8.15 liberation and the background of support theory for the provisional government of the Republic of Korea. It examines the contents and characteristics of these changes and the specific political reality in which they were materialized.
Song Chin-Woo and the Donga Ilbo Group did not deny cooperation with communist forces, but that is thought to be possible only under the precondition that leadership authority of the nationalist forces is secured beforehand. Another side of support theory for the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea by Song Chin-Woo includes a precondition that a national cooperation front line that has clear leadership of the nationalist force, or an interim government, must be established. However, instead of solving current national problems through a collaboration of left and right and creating a foundation for a new nation, they turned down the proposition for a collaboration by Lyuh Woon-Hyung and attempted to pursue national revolution and establishment of a new nation under their own hegemony.
Song Chin-Woo and the leading forces of the Korea Democratic Party supported a provisional government more than Rhee Syng- man. he's plan was to that Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea took charge of the role of an interim government, and the official new government was to hold and create a National Assembly through partnerships and connections with each democratic party, excluding anti-national forces. One of the main factors that allowed factors of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea to retain individual qualifications is due to the active efforts of Song Chin-Woo and leading forces of the Korea Democratic Party since immediately after introduction of U.S. troops in Korea.
