초록

This study analyzed the tombstones of the Koguryo peoples who was lived in the Tang, that has been excavated continuously in China and revealed not only the consciousness of their ancestors but also the condition of identity and changeable aspects of identity. The conclusions are as following.
The tombstones of the Koguryo peoples who was lived in the Tang that has been evacuated are 19th. Peoples who left tombstones are descendents of King Bojang, Yeon Gaesomun, and Koguryo nobles. The consciousness on the their ancestors of Koguryo peoples lived in the Tang can be revealed through their homelands, direct line of ancestors, the places where ancestors lived, and the records of ancestors written in their tombstones.
The records of their homes are divided into two groups. One is terms that symbolize Koguryo(‘Yodongin’, ‘Yodongjosunin’, ‘Yodongsamhanin’), the other is fabricated untruth that people were born such as noble families of Tang. The records of direct line of ancestors are divided into two groups. One is being revealed the truth that taking up government positions in Koguryo, the other is the records that was written regarding getting government positions from Tang. The places where ancestors lived and the records of ancestors are divided into two groups. One is the records that they were born in Koguryo, the other is the records that originally they were born in China, but they lived Koguryo for a moment, and returned to China.
When put together upper three things, the Koguryoo peoples who was lived in the Tang had the identity of descendent of Koguryo obviously until 720s. However, they denied or concealed the truth that born of Koguryo from 730s. For the change of identity, the Koguryo peoples lived in the Tang assimilated to Tang’s people.
