초록

이 글은 한국사회에서 1960년대 급속하게 진행된 ‘산업화’를 공동체문화 실천과 연구의 중요한 전환점으로 삼고 20세기 후반 이후 공동체문화의 실천양상과 변화를 살펴본 것이다. 그 결과 공동체문화의 현상과 실천양상은 산업화 이후 크게 세 시기의 사회구조적 영향 속에서 다양하게 나타났다. 첫째, 1960년대 가속화된 산업화와 도시화는 공동체로의 전회를 꾀하는 계기가 되었다. 둘째, 1980년대 이후 참살이 담론의 부상과 1990년대 후반 귀농귀촌문화의 영향 속에서 생활공동체문화가 활성화되기 시작하였다. 셋째, 2000년대 이후 공동체문화와 관련한 여러 제도의 확립과 정책수립으로 협동조합과 사회적기업 형태의 공동체문화가 형성·확산되고 있다.




이와 같이 공동체문화의 현상과 실천양상을 세 시기로 구분하여 살펴 본 결과 공동체문화에 관한 연구 과제를 다음과 같이 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 공동체문화의 현상과 실천양상을 바라보는 관점에 관한 연구이다. 공동체문화의 실천양상은 역사와 사회․경제․문화적 맥락 속에서 파악하고 분석해야 할 부분이 많으므로 보다 미시적인 관점에서 이루어져야 한다. 단순하게 공동체문화가 시기별로 단절되거나 변환되고 새롭게 구성된다고 판단하기에는 어려운 문제였다. 둘째, 새로운 공동체문화 이론의 유형과 성격에 관한 연구이다. 사회체제의 변화와 사회구조가 공동체문화 실천에 영향을 미치고 있으므로 시기별 공동체문화의 실천양상과 속성을 통해 현대 공동체문화 이론의 유형과 성격을 새롭게 파악할 필요가 있다고 생각한다. 셋째, 사회적 담론과 이슈에 따른 공동체문화 연구이다. 현대 공동체문화 현상과 실천은 지역재생, 사회혁신, 안전사회 등의 패러다임을 구축하고 있으므로 공동체문화의 역사적 지평 속에서 맥락적 분석이 이루어져 할 것이다. 넷째, 제도와 정책의 측면에서 수행할 공동체문화 연구이다. 2000년대 이후 여러 제도와 정책으로 인해 다층적이면서도 다양하게 나타나는 공동체문화의 특이성을 분석할 필요가 있다고 생각한다.

영어초록

This article establishes ‘industrialization’, which rapidly progressed in Korean society in the 1960s, as an important turning point in the practice and research of community culture and observes the practice patterns and changes of community culture after the late 20th century. As a result, the phenomena and practices of community culture appeared diversely within the social and structural influences of three periods of time after industrialization. First, accelerated industrialization and urbanization in the 1960s served as an opportunity to make a turn towards communities. Second, living community culture began to revitalize amid the rise of discourse on well-being after the 1980s and the influence of cultures associated with a return to farming and rural areas in the late 1990s. Third, community culture in the form of cooperatives formed and spread with the establishment of various systems and policies after the 2000s.
With such observations made of the phenomena and practices of community culture categorized into three time periods, research tasks on community culture could be presented as follows. The first is research on perspectives that observe the phenomena and practices of community culture. With regard to the practices of community culture, many aspects must be understood and analyzed within the contexts of history, society, economy, and culture so they must be understood from more microscopic perspectives.
Community culture cannot simply be understood as something that is disconnected, transformed, and newly composed by time period. Second is research on the types and characters of new community culture theories. As changes in social systems and social structures affect community culture practice, the types and characters of modern community culture theories must be newly understood through the practice patterns and attributes of community culture by period. Third is community culture research following social discourse and issues. Modern community culture phenomena and practice establish paradigms such as regional regeneration, social innovation, and safe societies so contextual analysis will be made possible within the historical horizons of community culture. Fourth is research on community culture that must be carried out in terms of institutions and policies. It seems to be necessary to analyze the specificity of community culture, which appears in multilayered and diverse forms due to various systems and policies since the 2000s.
