초록

This article concerns with a religious dialogue between Christianity and Donghak(東學), triggering the spirit of co-reliance and inclusion, in terms of Jesus’ “Double Love Command”(love of God and love of neighbor) in Luke and Suwoon's(水運, the founder of Donghak) teachings on Shi-Chun-Ju(侍天主, “serving God within the body”) and Go-Ah-Jung(顧我情, “reflecting one's self”). The pre-Christian and contemporary traditions on the double love command, along with the synoptic parallels, is first analyzed and explored how they would give impact on the Lukan context by the formulation of the single code (that is, love of neighbor), and why Luke links the single code with the parable of the Good Samaritan as it is(10:30-37). Suwoon's teachings on Shi-Chun-Ju and Go-Ah-Jung is also investigated in the same direction that serving God is not other than the very service on humanity on earth, like serving the invisible God by serving the visible humans. In particular, the concept of “Shi”(侍, i.e., serving within the body), highlighting the entire religio-philosophy of Donghak, is interpreted as to have been already rooted in his teaching on Bulyeon-Giyeon(不然 其然, i.e., affirmation and negation revolves around simultaneously to each other). As the way Luke interprets the love of God in the love of humanity by accompanying with the parable of the Good Samaritan, Suwoon's Shi-Chun-Ju and Go-Ah-Jung awakened his disciples to realize that human body is not to be separately reduced by a physical, spiritual and mental entity, but as a whole one, to the extent that humanity in itself is “now and here”(Ji-Gi-Gum-Ji, 至氣今至) to be honored as much as serving God.
