아동기 자녀를 둔 기독교인 아버지의 아동기 아버지와의 관계경험이 부모역할지능에 미치는 영향 - 종교적 안녕감의 매개효과를 중심으로 - (The Effect of Christian Father’s Childhood Experiences and Parental Intelligence: The Mediating Effects of Religious Well - Being)

초록

본 연구는 아동기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 아동기 아버지와의 관계경험과 부모역할지능 및 종교적 안녕감의 구조적 관계를 검증하는데 그 목적을 갖는다. 특히, 아버지의 아동기 아버지와의 관계경험이 부모역할지능에 미치는 영향에서 종교적 안녕감의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 서울 및 경기도에 거주하며, 교회에 등록하여 정기적으로 예배에 출석하고 있는 기독교인으로서, 아동기 자녀를 키우고 있는 아버지 202명이었다. 설문조사를 위해 연구대상자에게 자기보고식 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 측정도구는 아버지와의 관계경험을 측정하기 위해 Epstein(1983)이 개발한 부모-또래척도를 김정주(2009)가 타당화한 것을 사용하였다. 부모역할지능은 현미숙(2004)이 개발한 것이며, 종교적 안녕감은 Paloutzian과 Ellison(1982)의 영적 안녕감 척도를 이진화(2012)가 타당화한 척도를 사용하였다.
연구문제를 검증하기 위해 SPSS 22.0, Amos 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도, 백분율, 신뢰도, 요인분석을 실시하고, 매개효과에 대해 간접효과 및 직접효과에 대한 유의확률을 구하기 위해 부트스트래핑(Bootstraping)을 실시하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 아동기 아버지와의 관계경험에 따라 부모역할지능에 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 아동기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 아동기 아버지와의 관계경험에 따라 종교적 안녕감에 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 아동기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 종교적 안녕감에 따라 부모역할지능에 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 넷째, 아버지와의 관계경험이 부모역할지능에 미치는 영향에서 직접효과의 경우에 =-.008로 아버지와의 관계경험과 부모역할지능의 관계가 없음을 알 수 있다. 그러나 간접효과를 살펴보면, .179로 나타나, 유의수준 p<.01수준에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 따라서 아버지의 아동기 아버지와의 관계경험이 부모역할지능에 미치는 영향에서 종교적 안녕감은 완전매개효과를 갖는다. 이러한 결과는 아버지의 종교적 안녕감이 부모역할에 영향을 미치는 요인임을 증명한 것이며, 아버지가 자녀를 독립적인 존재로 양육하고, 자녀에게 수용적인 양육태도를 보일수록 자녀의 종교적 안녕감에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것을 뜻한다.
본 연구는 기독교(목회)상담, 청소년상담 및 가족상담과 개연성을 갖고 아버지-자녀 관계 및 기독교신앙과의 연관성을 구조적으로 탐색하여 그 모형에 대한 이론적 기틀을 마련하였다. 또한 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 관련 주제를 바탕으로 이에 대한 이론 연구 및 적용적 연구를 수행할 기독교(목회)상담학 분야에 학문적 자극을 주고, 향후 연구에 대한 방향을 제시할 것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the structural relationships between childhood relational experience with the father of the children’s father, parental intelligence, and religious well-being. In particular, this study analyzed the mediating effect of religious well-being in the influences that a father’s childhood relational experience with his father had on parental intelligence. The subjects of the study included 202 fathers who lived in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province and raised children as registered as Christians and attended church services regularly. The survey was conducted by the self-report questionnaire targeting the subjects. The Mother-Father-Peer Scale(MFPS) developed by Epstein(1983) to measure the relational experience with the father validated by Kim Jeong-Ju(2009) was used as the measurement tool. Furthermore, we used Parental Intelligence Scale by Hyun Mi-Sook(2004) and Spiritual Well-being Scale by Paloutzian & Ellison validated by Lee Jin-Hwa(2012) to measure religious well-being.
In order to verify the subjects of the study, we analyzed the frequency, percentage, reliability, and factor-analysis using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs, and conducted Bootstrapping to estimate the p-values of direct and indirect effects of the mediating effect. The outcomes of this study were as follows. First, no significant difference in parental intelligence according to father’s childhood relational experience with his father was observed. Second, a significant difference in religious well-being according to the father’s childhood relational experience with his father was observed. Third, a significant difference in parental intelligence according to religious well-being of the father with children was observed. Fourth, in the case of direct effect in the influences father’s childhood relational experience with his father had on parental intelligence, it showed no relation between the father’s childhood relational experience and parental intelligence with =-.008. However, indirect effect was .179 showing significance of p<.01. Therefore, it is viewed that religious well-being has a full mediating effect in the influences father’s childhood relational experience with his father had on parental intelligence. This result proved that father’s religious well-being to be an influential factor on parenting indicating that fathers raised their children to be independent and had more receptive parenting attitude, it would have more positive effect on the religious well-being of their children.
This study explored the relation between father-child relationship and the Christian faith structurally to establish the theoretical foundation for the model with the relevance to Christian (pastoral) counseling, youth counseling, and family counseling. Finally, the results acquired through this study will be an academic impetus to Christian (pastoral) counseling area which will perform theoretical and applied researches based on related subjects presenting a direction for future research.
