문화예술교육이 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 -그림책 활용 미술교육 중심으로- (Effects of cultural art education on the children’s emotional quotient -focusing on art education using picture books)

초록

2016년 문화체육관광부가 주최하고, 한국문화예술진흥원 주관한 문화예술교육지원사업이 한국교원대학교에서 진행됐다. ‘상상놀이터로 떠나는 예술모험’이라는 주제로 실시된 이 사업에서는 모리스 샌닥 (Maurice Sendak, 1994/2016)의 『괴물들이 사는 나라』 그림책을 주 교재로 구성, 유아학습현장에 적용하였다. 2016년 6월-12월까지 24주차 48차시로 80분 수업에 10분 휴식으로 총90분 실시했고, 예술모험 전체사업 규모는 충청 · 전라 지역 수혜기관 85개소, 예술 강사 44명, 만5-6세 전체 참여유아1,335명이 참여했다. 본 연구자는 예술 강사로 전체 프로그램에 참여하였다. 본 연구는 ‘상상놀이터로 떠나는 예술모험’에서 그림책을 활용한 미술중심 문화예술교육 실험 처치 전과 후에 유아의 정서지능과 유아 미술능력에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 연구대상은 동일한 프로그램을 적용한 일반 유아 만6세 71명(남아39명, 여아32명)이고, 측정도구는 유아용 정서지능과 유아미술능력 처치 전후에 교사평정용 유아 관찰 검사를 이용했다. 수집된 자료 분석은 SPSS 18.0의 Cronbach's Alpha , paired t-test를 통하여 유아의 정서지능과 미술능력에 대한 동질성 검증과 신뢰도를 증명하였다. 결과는 각 요인별 유의수준 0.05보다 작으며 프로그램 처치 후 전체 결과 값의 차이가 높아진 것으로 나타남으로써 유아의 정서지능과 미술능력향상에 정적인 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 문화예술교육이 유아의 정서에 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 밝힌 유의미한 결과를 도출했고, 정서가 형성되는 유아기에 그림책을 활용한 미술중심프로그램 교육의 중요성과 가치를 입증한 영향력 있고 유의미한 연구라 할 것이다.

영어초록

In 2016, the project supporting cultural art education was implemented in Korea National University of Education, hosted by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and supervised by Korean Culture and Arts Foundation. In this project that was implemented under the theme of “art adventure leaving for Imaginary Playground,” the picture book ‘Where the wild things are’ written by Maurice Sendak (1994/2016) was applied in the site of children education as the main textbook. Total 90 minute-class including 80 minute-lecture and 10 minute-break was performed with 48 classes during 24-week period from June to December 2016. The total art adventure project included the participations of 85 beneficiaries in Choongchung and Cholla provinces, 44 art instructors, and 1,335 children between 5 and 6 years old. The investigator participated in the whole programs as an art instructor. In this study, the effects of cultural art education were analyzed before and after the experiments focusing on art using the picture book, “art adventure leaving for Imaginary Playground,” on the children’s emotional quotient and their art capacity. The study subjects were 71 children (39 males and 32 females) who were applied by the same program, and the measurement tools were used with emotional quotient test for children and observation test for children by the teacher before and after the treatment. The collected data were analyzed by Cronbach's Alpha and paired t-test with SPSS 18.0, verifying homogeneity and reliability on emotional quotient and art capacity of the children. The results showed that the significance level per each element was lower than 0.05 and the overall result difference was increased after the program implementation, demonstrating positive correlation between emotional quotient and improvement of art capacity in the children. This study summarized with the significant results to prove positive effects of cultural art education on the children’s emotion, indicating the importance and value of art centric educational programs using picture books in the children stage when the emotion is developed.
