현대 모뉴멘트 전시공간에 나타나는 밈 적 표현특성에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Characteristics of Memetic Expression in Modern Monument Space)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 최근 문화콘텐츠를 통해 융합 트렌드가 확산되면서 창조와 융합을 통한 새로운 형태의 문화산업이 탄생되고 있다. 이러한 사회적 변화로 현대 건축에서는 버려지고 잊혀져가는 건축물의 역사성과 상징적 가치를 재현하는 시도를 하며도시와 건축의 새로운 패러다임을 제시하고 있다. 밈(Meme)은 이러한 현상을 분석하는 대표적인 개념 중 하나이며, 이러한 문제점 극복하기 위해서는 밈(Meme)을 통한 새로운 문화적 접근과 건축의 재해석을 통해 기존 건축물을 현대 모뉴멘트 전시시설로 탈바꿈시켜 공간에 나타나는 밈(Meme)적 표현특성 요소를 분석함으로써 이전과는 다른 방식의 공간적 접근이 필요하다고판단된다. (연구방법) 본 연구는 모뉴멘트 공간의 잠재성이 드러나는 현대 메모리얼의 장소성을 대표하는 사례를 중심으로 10년이내의 해외사례를 대상으로 선정하고, 밈(Meme)의 특성에 대한 선행연구 분석을 통해 표현특성을 구분함으로써 밈(Meme)적의미와 요소를 도출하여 제안한 분석틀을 기준으로 대상을 분석하고자 한다. 도출된 표현특성 요소에 따라 공간을 구성하는 구축적·연출적 요소를 분석요소로 분류하여 밈(Meme)의 진화단계에 따라 표현특성과의 관계성을 분석하였다. (결과) 미메시스는 장소성을 전시의 대상 및 주체로 치환하여 재해석하거나 장소의 상징성과 공간형성의 매개체적인 역할을 하는 건축공간으로분류하여 공간의 본질적 이해를 먼저 필요로 하는 단계로 정의하며, 구·신요소의 복제, 결합에 의해 복합성과 변이의 가능성을나타났다. 메타밈은 변이의 배경이자 주체로 요소와의 관계로 인해 지역·문화적 맥락으로 지속적인 진화가 이뤄지며, 확산적성향과 함께 사람과 공간이 소통하는 상호 관계적 특징을 띠며 공유성과 잠재성을 지닌 상징적 공간의 형태로 정의할 수 있는 공유공간으로 분류된다. 이는 밈(Meme)의 구조를 뒷받침하는 근거가 되었다고 판단된다. (결론) 이상의 연구를 통해 현대 모뉴멘트 공간과 같은 잠재적 의미와 상징성을 갖는 현대 메모리얼의 장소성을 대표하는 공간을 계획함에 있어 전시공간계획 시 밈(Mene)적 표현특성이 전시시나리오의 전개 및 공간연출의 표현요소로 활용될 수 있기를 기대하며 공간과의 긴밀한 관계성과적용가능성을 제시해 보고자 한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) As the fusion trend spreads across cultural contents, a new type of cultural industry is being created through creation and fusion. These social changes have led to a new paradigm of city and architecture being presented by attempts to reproduce the history and symbolic value of buildings abandoned and forgotten in the face of modern architecture. Meme, a X, is one of the representative concepts for analyzing this phenomenon. To overcome the related problems, there is a need for a new cultural approach through Meme, as well as a spatial approach different from previous ones. This study aimed to analyze the characteristic elements of Meme appearing in the spaces after the existing buildings were transformed into modern monument exhibition facilities, through a reinterpretation of architecture. (Method) This study selected overseas cases in the last 10 years, with a focus on those representing modern memorials, to reveal the potential of monument spaces. We then derived the meaning and elements of Meme and then classified the expressive characteristics through the analysis of preceding studies on the characteristics of Meme. According to the derived expressive characteristics, we classified the constructive and directive elements that constitute space as the analysis elements, and then analyzed the relationship with expression characteristics according to the stage of evolution of Meme.
(Results) We reinterpreted Mimesis by replacing the place with the object and subject of the exhibition or defining an essential understanding of space as a necessary step. First, we categorized it as an architectural space that plays a mediating role in the symbolism of place and space formation. Second, we demonstrated the possibility of complexity and variation by cloning and combining old and new elements. Meta meme is a background, subject to mutation and constantly evolving into a local and cultural context owing to its relationship with elements. It is classified as a shared space that can be defined as a form of symbolic space with mutual relations to the characteristics of people and space, and communicating diffusive tendency, sharing, and potential. It is judged to be the basis for supporting the structure of Meme. (Conclusions) In designing a space representing a place for modern memorials and with potential meaning and symbolism, such as a Modern Monument space, it is expected that Meme expressing the characteristics of exhibition space planning can be utilized as an expression element for the development of exhibition scenarios and space presentations. The study demonstrated the close relation between space and applicability.
