초록

필자는 최근 단국대 연민문고에서 『연행음청기』(3)과 『연행음청록』(4)가 박지원의 산문 작품과 함께 1책으로 묶여 있는 것을 확인하였다. 『연행음청기』(3)은 표지를 포함해 총 32장으로 되어 있고, 『연행음청록』(4)는표지나 목록 없이 본문만 총 30장으로 되어 있다. 이 두 책은 『열하일기』 이본 중에서 ‘초고본 계열’에 속하는이본으로 『열하일기』 제3편 「성경잡지」와 제4편 「일신수필」의 최초의 원고이거나 그에 가까운 것으로 추정된다. 본 연구는 이를 확인할 목적으로 국내외에 소장된 『열하일기』 이본 중에서 표제가 “연행음청”으로 되어 있는 이본들에 대해 알아보고, 이 이본들과 『연행음청기』(3)·『연행음청록』(4)의 선후 관계와 교정 양상에 대해살펴보았다.
단국대 연민문고에는 『연행음청(건)(곤)』 2책이 소장되어 있다. 그중 『연행음청(곤)』은 표지를 포함해 총22장으로 되어 있다. 이 책에는 5월 10일 연암에서 개성으로 들어가는 것에서 시작해 7월 30일에 호타하에서조림까지 40리를 이동한 내용이 포함되어 있다. 이 책에 씌어 있는 연행 일정은 『열하일기』 「도강록」에 기록된 6월 24일보다 44일이 많고, 「관내정사」에 기록된 8월 5일보다 닷새가 적은 것이다. 박지원은 『연행음청기』 (3)과 『연행음청록』(4)를 저술하면서 위와 같이 80일간의 연행 여정이 기록되어 있는 『연행음청(곤)』의 내용을 활용하여 자신이 본 풍물과 체험을 상세하게 추가하였다.
일본 동양문고에는 표제를 ‘연휘’라고 적어놓은 필사본 중 『연행음청(1)(2)』 2책과 『열하일기(1)(2)(3)(4) (5)(6)』 6책을 합쳐놓은 『연암설총』 8책이 소장되어 있다. 그중 『연행음청(1)』은 「도강록」과 「성경잡지」를필사한 것이고, 『연행음청(2)』는 「일신수필」과 「관내정사」를 필사한 것이다. 또한 단국대 연민문고에는 『행계잡록(1)(2)(3)(5)(6)』 5책이 소장되어 있다. 그 중 『행계잡록(1)』은 「도강록」과 「성경잡지」를 필사한 것이고, 『행계잡록(2)』는 「일신수필」과 「관내정사」를 필사한 것이다. 『연행음청(1)(2)』는 박지원이 『연행음청기』(3)과『연행음청록』(4)의 원문을 개작에 가까울 정도로 대폭 교정한 것을 후에 누군가가 다시 필사한 것이고, 『행계잡록(1)(2)』는 박지원이 앞서 대폭 교정한 내용을 다시 교정해 직접 필사한 것이다. 본 연구는 난마처럼 얽혀있는 『열하일기』 ‘초고본 계열’ 이본의 계통을 규명하거나 『열하일기』의 성립과정과 원문의 교정 양상을 규명하는 데 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

영어초록

Recently, I confirmed the 『Yeonghaengumcheonggi燕行陰晴記』(3) and 『Yeonghaengumcheongrok 燕行陰晴錄』(4) at Dankook University’s Yeonmin Bookstore. It was with a prose work by Park Ji-won. 『Yeonghaengumcheonggi』(3) has a total of 32 pages including the cover and 『Yeong haengumcheongrok』(4) has a total of 30 pages without a cover or list. These two books belong to the “first draft series” among the 『Yeolhailgi熱河日記』, identified by the author presumed to be the first manuscript or close to that of the 『Yeolhailgi』 part 3 「Sunggeonggabgi盛京雜誌」 and part 4 「Ilsinsoopil馹汛隨筆」. For the purpose of this study, I looked at these texts, which have the title “Yeonghaengumcheong燕行陰晴” among the different version of 『Yeolhailgi』 collected at home and abroad. And I looked at the relationship between different version of 『Yeolhailgi』 and the precedence and correction patterns of the 『Yeonghaengumcheonggi』(3) and 『Yeonghaengum cheongrok』(4).
Dankook University’s Yeonmin Bookstore contains two books: The 『Yeonghaengumcheong (Gun)(Gon)燕行陰晴(乾)(坤)』 at Yeonmin Bookstore. 『Yeonghaengumcheong(Gon)』 among them has a total of 22 pages. This book starts with entering Gaeseong開城 on May 10th from Yeonam燕 巖 to afforestation on July 30th from Hotaha호타하滹沱河 to Jolim棗林. The schedule of the performance written here is 44 days more than June 24 recorded in the 「Dokangllok渡江錄」 of the 『Yeolhailgi』 and Five days are less than August 5th, which is recorded in the 「Gannaejungsa關內 程史」. At the time of writing the 『Yeonghaengumcheonggi』(3) and 『Yeonghaengumcheongrok』 (4), Park Ji-won used the contents of the 『Yeonghaengumcheong(Gon)』, which records the 80-day journey, as the main data. And he added the customs and experiences he saw in detail.
In Dongyang Bookstore in Japan, there are eight books of 『Yeonamseolchong燕巖說叢』 among the manuscripts with the title “Yeonhui燕彙”. This book is a combination of two books, 『Yeong haengumcheong燕行陰晴(1)(2)』, and six books, 『Yeolhailgi(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)』. Among them, 『Yeong haengumcheong(1)』 is a transcription of 「Dokangllok」 and 「Sunggeonggabgi」 and 『Yeongha engumcheong(2)』 is a transcription of 「Ilsinsoopil」 and 「Gannaejungsa」. In addition, Dankook University’s Yeonmin Bookstore contains five books on 『Haenggyejabnok(1)(2)(3)(5)(6)』. Among them, 『Haenggyejabnok(1)』 is a transcription of 「Dokangllok」” and 「Sunggeonggabgi」 and 『Haen ggyejabnok(2)』 is a transcription of 「Ilsinsoopil」 and 「Gannaejungsa」. 『Yeonghaengumcheong (1)(2)』 is a transcription of a book in which Park Ji-won corrected the original texts of 『Yeonghaen gumcheonggi』(3) and 『Yeonghaengumcheongrok』(4) to the extent that they were close to the adaptation. And 『Haenggyejabnok(1)(2)』 is a transcription of Park Ji-won’s previous correction by re-correcting it. This study is thought to be helpful in clarifying the lineage of the different version of the 『Yeolhailgi』, which is intertwined like a riot. And this study is expected to help investigate the process of establishment of 『Yeolhailgi』 and the correction pattern of early copies.
