초록

이 역주는 茶山 丁若鏞의 저술로 규장각본 『與猶堂集』과 영인본 『與猶堂全書補遺』에 각각 수록된 『餛飩錄』에서 詩話 부분을 번역하고 주석을 붙인 것이다.
『혼돈록』은 다산의 다른 저작 목록에는 들어있지 않은 筆記類에 속하는 저술로, 4권 1책으로 엮어져 있다. 권1은 史論이고, 권2는 인물들의 일화가 중심을 이루고 있으며, 권3은 저자와 가까운 시기의 故事를 서술하고 있는데, 그 말미에 詩話가 들어 있다.
『혼돈록』에 수록된 시화는 다음과 같은 특징이 있다.
첫째, 南人 詩派의 실상에 관한 정보를 담고 있다. 조선 사회는 당파가 문학의 양상에도 큰 영향을 미쳤는데, 이 시화에서는 남인의 시맥을 짚고 남인계 시인과 관련한 시화를 서술하고 있다.
둘째, 시화를 통해 다산의 실학적 면모를 보여준다. 예를 들어 <수차 밟기 노래(踏水車謠)>, <반지화곡(班枝花曲)>, <최명곡의 시(崔明谷詩)>, <곤여만국전도(坤輿萬國全圖)> 등에서 그러한 특징을 알 수 있다.
셋째, 다산의 시창작 현장을 엿볼 수 있는 바, 희작시들이 보고된 사실이 특이하다. <지각에서의 시(池閣詩)>, <금정시참(金井詩讖)>, <이학관에게 준 시(贈李詩)> 등 다산의 인생 역정에서 시를 짓는 경위를 서술하고 다산의 잃어버린 시구가 수습되기도 한다. 그 가운데 특히 희작시들이 소개되어 있는데, 다산은 이들 시편을 잡체시(雜體詩)라고 통칭하고 있다. 흘어체(吃語體), 구자체(口字體), 오잡조체(五雜組體), 양두섬섬체(兩頭纖纖體), 회문체(回文體), 동요체(童謠體), 옥련환체(玉連環體) 등이다. 대개는 언어유희에 해당하는 것으로, 1796년 다산이 서울 명례방(明禮坊)의 죽란(竹欄)에서 살 때와 강진 유배 시절 초기에 주로 지었다. 이들 시를 통해 다산의 정신활동의 일면을 알 수 있고 아울러 희작시 연구에도 참고가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This paper is the translation with notes of the talks on selected poetry at Hondon-rok (혼돈록, 餛飩錄, Book of bun with a variety of fillings). Hondon-rok is contained in each of the two books by Jeong Yak-yong (정약용, 丁若鏞), known as his pseudonym ‘Dasan’ (다산, 茶山) ; Yeoyudang-jib (여유당집, 與猶堂集, Collection of Yeoyudang Jeong Yak-yong’s Works) of the Gyujanggak (규장각, 奎章閣) collection and Yeoyudang-Jeonseo-boyu (여유당전서보유, 與猶堂全書補遺, phototypographied complete collection of Yeoyudang Jeong Yak-yong’s Works) published by Kyungin-munhwa Press(경인문화사, 景仁文化社) in 1969.
Hondon-rok, a handwriting script which is not in the other books, constitutes four volumes and one book. The first volume is talks on history, the second one is about people's episodes, and the third is the real stories of the contemporary writers. The last part is the talks on poetry.
The Talks on Poetry at Hondon-rok has distinguishing features;First, it covers the actual facts about Nam-in (남인, 南人, One of the factions of Joseon Dynasty based in Gyeongsang Province), the main stream of the poetry by Nam-in scholars and the various tales related to their poems.
Secondly, the Perspectives of Jeong, who was very concerned over the important social agendas, is well illustrated specifically in poetry such as, Dapsucha-yo (답수차요, 踏水車謠 or a song designed to sing while working in watermill), Banjihwa-gok(반지화곡, 班枝花曲 or a melody as to a cotton ball), Choi myonggok-si (최명곡시, 崔明谷詩 or poems by Choi myonggok ) and the global map (곤여만국전도, 坤輿萬國全圖).
Lastly, we can get a glimpse behind the scenes of Dasan's poetic compositions through his works and it is very unusual to see the fact that some of his Huijak-si (희작시, 戱作詩, poems composed mostly for the purpose of amusement) were made public. Poems such as Zigak-si (지각시, 池閣詩, a poem describes a small gazebo), Geumjeong-sicham (금정시참, 金井詩讖, a poem describes a well in the autumn), and Jeunglee-si (증이시, 贈李詩, a poem given to Lee Hak-kwan) reveal some of the hidden reasons why Dasan had composed poetry and a few verses of poetic compositions previously known as lost is newly discovered through these pieces. Thirdly, it shows Joeng's own way of writing, especially through the light literatures, so called Japche-si (잡체시, 雜體詩, Various types of poems free from traditional rhyme schemes). It includes helyo che(흘어체, 吃語體, a type of begging words), Guza che (구자체, 口字體 a type of composing with a chinese character for mouth), ojapjo che(오잡조체, 五雜組體 five types of Japchesi), Yangdusemsemche(양두섬섬체, 兩頭纖纖體), Hoimunche(회문체, 回文體 a type written in a round direction), Dongyo-che(동요체, 童謠體 a type like child's song), Okryonhwanche(옥련환체, 玉連環體, a type written in a ring-like round direction) and so on.
A variety of valuable information like the literary importance of Jeong’s works, his spirits, poetic dignity and formality of his compositions, and daily life at the time can be inferred through the selected poetry.
This is obvious that these selections will enable you to better understand his works. Moreover, it will be very interesting to have a glimpse of the daily life of the time and will be very helpful in figuring out his relentless intellectual curiosity and humanistic interest about life.
