초록

본 연구의 목적은 남성복의 여성화 경향에 대한 관심이 급증하고, 대중화 되는 시점에서 현대 남성복 컬렉션에서 새롭게 해석되어 보여지는 앤드로지너스 룩디자인의 조형적 특징을 분석하는데 있다. 또한 이를바탕으로 현대 남성복 변화 양상을 파악하고, 남성 대중의 니즈를 알아봄으로서, 국내 남성 디자인 경향을예측하는데 그 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.
연구방법 및 범위는 문헌연구와 실증연구를 병행하였다. 문헌연구에서는 선행연구와 패션관련 자료 및인터넷 사이트에서 추출된 사진자료를 중심으로 앤드로지너스의 개념과 출현 및 변천과정을 살펴보고, 남성복에서의 앤드로지너스 확산 요인을 고찰하였다.
실증연구에서는 남성복의 앤드로지너스 룩의 대중화를 이끌기 시작한 혁신적이고 파격적인 디자이너 5명, John Galliano, J.W. Anderson, Hedi Slimane,Haider Ackermann, John Varvatos를 선정, 2010 S/S시즌부터 2014 F/W 시즌까지의 패션 컬렉션에서 발표된 이미지를 style.com, firstview.com과 gap press를 중심으로 추출, 총 1367개의 디자인을 분석대상으로 하여, 남성복의 앤드로지너스 룩의 조형적 특성을실루엣 및 아이템, 소재, 문양, 색채, 장식으로 구분하여 분석하였다.
연구결과는 첫째, 실루엣 및 아이템은 피티드 앤 슬림 실루엣이 63.4%으로 시즌에 상관없이 큰 비중을차지하고, 레깅스 및 스키니 팬츠 아이템과 함께 착용하여 인체의 윤곽선을 여성적 라인으로 강조하며 남성복 실루엣에 변화를 주었다.
둘째, 소재를 분석한 결과는 니트가 전체 소재의40%의 비중을 차지하면서 포멀한 남성복 디자인에서인체의 곡선을 드러내는 드레시한 여성화의 경향이가속화되어가고 있음을 보여주고 있다.
셋째, 문양을 분석한 결과는 무지 문양이 48%의 높은 비중을 차지하여 소재와 컬러자체를 통한 세련된시크함과 섹슈얼한 이미지를 표현하려는 경향이 강하였다. 스트라이프와 체크 패턴은 중성적 이미지를 부여할 때 사용하였고, 꽃문양 또한 많이 사용하여 곡선적 무늬를 통한 여성적 이미지를 추구하였다.
넷째, 색채를 분석한 결과는 톤은 라이트 그레이시톤과 페일 톤이 큰 비중을 차지하고 여성적인 화려한비비드 톤의 사용이 증가하였다. 또한 톤온톤 매치의유사배색과 액센트 컬러를 사용한 대조배색의 사용증가로 성 경계를 모호하게 하며 중성적 이미지를 효과적으로 표현하였다.
다섯째, 장식을 분석한 결과는 셔링, 스팽글 앤 비즈, 프린징, 리본, 러플/프릴/플라운스 등의 비중이 높아지면서 장식은 여성적이라는 고정관념에서 로맨틱무드를 표현하기 위해 남성복 디자인에 적극적으로수용되어 자유로운 감성 표현의 수단으로 사용되고있음을 보여주고 있다. 결론적으로 현대 남성복 패션에서 현저하게 증가하고 있는 앤드로지너스 룩 디자인은 남성과 여성의 이미지가 크로스 오버 된 것으로 성의 구분이 모호해지는 미래 사회에 잘 부합되는 메인 트렌드로서 일시적인 현상이 아닌, 하나의 패션 스타일로 자리잡게 될것으로 예측되어진다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the design’s characteristics of the androgynous look that shows a gender’s vagueness in contemporary mens collections. And this will be helped to give information about foundation of the development of Korean mens wear and help suggest predict future mens trends. The methods and range of this study are documentary research and demonstrative research. For the documentary research, it was examined that the concept, the advent and the change process of the androgynous based on the mainly previous researches and fashion related data were used. And also the diffusion cause of the androgynous of mens wear was studied. For the demonstrative research, the total of 1367 design samples of John Galliano, J.W. Anderson, Hedi Slimane, Haider Ackermann, John Varvatos were selected from 2010 S/S season to 2014 F/W season fashion collection of firstview.com, & style.com, and gap press. The analysis of design’s characteristics of the androgynous look is based on mens silhouette and items, material, pattern, color, decorations.
The results of this study are as follows; First, the silhouette and items of mens are that fitted and slim silhouette is 63.4%, which occupied large portion regardless of seasons. And this silhouette with wearing leggings and skinny pants changes the mens line to the women’s line.
Second, the material data shows that knit taken up 40% out of the total materials. That means the formal mens design pursued a dressy feminine design that expose a curved line.
Third, solid pattern shows 48%. This is because that material and color itself express sophisticated chic and sexual image. The stripe and check pattern are used for unisex image and the floral pattern for the feminine image.
Fourth, the colors are largely tone image(41.9%) and color combination(58.1%). The light grayish pale tone has been preferred and colorful vivid tone has been increased. The similar coloration and contrast coloration expressed androgynous image effectively.
Fifth, the decoration such as shirring, spangle & beads, fringing, ribbon, ruffle & frill & flounce shows highly proportions. That means that mens wear designs tend to use feminine details and trimmings aggressively to express romantic mood.
In conclusion, the androgynous look that cross over the image of masculinity and femininity has been increasing remarkably in contemporary mens fashion.
Therefore the androgynous look designs in mens fashion would be possible to lead the future fashion that would be expressed a mixed gender with advanced freedom, and it would be an important fashion style that can characterize the contemporary times while lasting in the future.
