In this paper, we aim to clarify the significance of history photo book has been published in late 1950s-60 years. The research methods is with a view to change the flow of history narrative method in the mid-20th century, will be analyzed in the context of the “post-war Japan”. in the photo books, Representation over the War plays a role that will be configured as ‘memories stylized’ with the history of Japan. Japanese memory that is of fixed form this is a ‘national memory’, the Japanese are clearly divided into a non-Japanese to center it. In addition, the same memory formation national has been established on the violence to eliminate conflicting memory.
Therefore, the method of representation in the photo book these, should be questioned from the political nature of the representation has. In addition, through the ‘act of View’ photo book, it is limited to the person who shared memory collective its category precisely to the formation of the ‘Japanese = people’, these photos of Japan as a ‘narrative national’ postwar there is a significance of collecting has.
