인공지능의 편견과 데이터교에 관한 현상학적 연구: 하이데거의 “심려”와 “테크네”적 사유를 중심으로 (A Phenomenological Study of AI's Prejudice and Dataism : Focusing on Heidegger's thinking of "solicitude" and "techne")

초록

본 논문은 과학기술과 빅데이터의 영향력이 강화되어 가는 문화 속에서 윤리적 가치체계의 궁극적 근원으로서의 가상의 일반지능/초지능이 전지전능한 신적 역할을 대체하여 미래 종교의 모델이 될 가능성을 논의한다. 이를 위해 대화형 인공지능의 실용화 과정에서 반영되는 현상학적 의미로서 하이데거가 제시한 현존재의 공동존재적 삶과 기술의 본질에 주목하고, 효용성에 몰입하는 사태의 배후에서 움직이는 우리 삶의 평균적 일상성을 밝힌다. 오늘날 대화형 인공지능의 경우 가치판단에 수반되는 편견과 고정관념이 포함된 삶이 빅데이터를 구성하는 가운데, 하이데거가 제시한 “심려(Fürsorge)”에 머무르지 못하고 자연과 타인을 “닦달(Ge-stell)”하는 공동존재적 사태가 기술 문명에 부여된 중립적 권위를 통해 나타난다. 그런데 현 과학기술이 대화형 인공지능을 통해 목표로 삼는 일반지능의 개발은 세인적 편견과 고정관념이 스며있는 빅데이터의 무한한 확대이자 극한의 지성적 존재인 초지능에 대한 기대로 이어지고 이는 전지전능한 지성적 존재에 대한 신뢰와 신성의 근원이 될 가능성을 의미한다. 종교적 가치가 일상적 가치의 최종적 근거로 머무른다면 일상적 편견이 내포된 빅데이터의 궁극적 집약체인 초지능은 신성이 부여되어 “데이터교”로 쉽게 대체될 수 있다. 결론적으로 본 논문은 현대 기술주도적 문화 안에서 오늘날의 대중 종교가 데이터교로 대체되지 않기 위해서는 편견과 고정관념이 스며있는 일상적 삶의 가치를 넘어서는비기계적인 인간 고유의 사유를 권장해야 한다고 제안한다. 종교는 공동존재의 심려와 “테크네(τέχνη)”적 기술 이해를 회복하는 실천을 이끌어내어 빅데이터의 양적 일상적 가치가 반영하지 못하는 삶의 본래성 추구를 효율적 가치와 구별되는 종교적 가치로 수행해야 한다고 주장한다.

영어초록

This paper discusses the possibility of hypothetical general AI/ superintelligence as the ultimate source of ethical value systems as models for future religions by replacing the omniscient and omnipotent divine role in a culture where the influence of science and technology and big data is intensifying. To this end, as a phenomenological meaning reflected in the process of practical use of conversational artificial intelligence, we pay attention to the essence of the co-existence life and technology of the present existence proposed by Heidegger, and reveal the average daily life of our lives that move behind the situation of immersion in utility. In today's case of conversational AI, while big data constitutes a life that includes the prejudices and stereotypes that accompany value judgments, the co-existential situation of "Ge-stelling" nature and others rather than staying in Heidegger's "Fürsorge" emerges through the neutral authority given to technological civilization. However, the development of general intelligence, which current science and technology targets through conversational artificial intelligence, leads to the infinite expansion of big data permeated with prejudices and stereotypes, and the expectation of superintelligence, which is an extremely intelligent being, which means that it has the possibility of becoming a source of trust and divinity in omniscient intelligent beings. If religious values remain the final basis of everyday values, then superintelligence, the ultimate aggregator of big data with everyday biases, can be endowed with divinity and easily replaced by "dataism." In conclusion, this paper suggests that in order for today's popular religion not to be replaced by dataism in a modern technology-driven culture, it is necessary to encourage non-mechanical human thinking that goes beyond the values of everyday life permeated with prejudices and stereotypes. Religion leads to the practice of restoring the spirit of co-existence and the "techne" (τέχνη) understanding of technology, arguing that the pursuit of the originality of life, which does not reflect the quantitative and everyday values of big data, should be carried out with religious values distinct from efficient values.
