한국소설에 재현된 차이니스 디아스포라 연구 －박범신의 『유리』와 정이현의 『너는 모른다』를 중심으로 (Chinese Diaspora Study Represented in Korean Fiction －Focusing on Park Bum Shin's Yuri and Jeong Lee Hyun's You Don't Know)

초록

이 논문은 2000년대 이후 한국소설 텍스트에 재현되어 있는 재한 화교(華僑) 의 문학적 형상을 디아스포라적 시각에서 분석함으로써, 근대국가의 폐쇄적 민족주의와 동아시아 냉전/분단 체제를 넘어선 문화적 의사소통의 가능성을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 한중수교 이후 화교를 모티프로 한 장·단편소설이 일부 발표되어 차이니스 디아스포라의 양상을 살필 수 있게 되었지만, 한국문학 작품 중에서‘재한 화교’를 소재로 한 소설 텍스트는 그리 많지 않다. 차이니스 디아스포라의 시각으로 독해할 수 있는 한국소설 작품을 조사하고 검토한 결과, 두 가지 특징을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 한중수교 이전 한국 근현대 소설에 재현되어 있는 ‘구화교’ 의 형상에는 디아스포라 연구의 쟁점이 함축되어 있다는 것. 둘째, 한중수교 이후입국한 ‘신화교’에 대한 관심과 서사적 재현이 조금씩 이루어지고 있다는 점이다.
다만 재한 화교를 다룬 문학과 연구는 충분하지 않아서, 디아스포라 연구 분야 중에서도 틈새에 위치해 있다고 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 예비 작업을 바탕으로, 이 논고에서는 박범신의 『유리』와 정이현의 『너는 모른다』에 재현된 차이니스 디아스포라의 역사성과 정체성을 분석하였다. 두 소설 텍스트의 서사 내용과 구성 방식을분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 『유리(流離)』의 시사점이다. 첫째, 재한 화교의 혼종적 정체성은 일국적 시각에서 논의될 수 있는 것이 아니라, 동아시아 역사의풍상(風霜)을 고려하여 이해되어야 한다는 점. 둘째, 재한 화교의 정체성과 시민성은 무역/상업 디아스포라로 분류할 수 없는 역사적 맥락이 있다는 점이다. 다음으로, 정이현의 『너는 모른다』의 시사점이다. 첫째, 구화교와 신화교의 경계에 놓여있는 화교 2세대의 정체성과 부유하는 삶의 모습을 확인할 수 있다는 것. 둘째, 추리서사 형식을 통해 이해 불가능한 대상으로서의 타자성을 자각하게 한다는 점이다. 이와 같이 두 소설은, 한국 근현대사에서 타자화되어 왔던 재한 화교의 상처와고통을 감각하고 새로운 소통의 가능성을 사고하는 문화적 계기가 된다.

영어초록

The purpose of this paper is to explore the possibility of cultural communication beyond the closed nationalism of modern nations and the Cold War / division of East Asia. By analyzing the literary shape of Chinese Diaspora in Korea expressed in Korean novels since the 2000s with a diaspora perspective. There are not many fiction texts about ‘The Chinese Diaspora in Korea’ in Korean literature. However, after the Korea-China Interchange, several novels and short stories with Korean-Chinese motifs were published, allowing us to examine aspects of the Chinese Diaspora. Investigating and reviewing Korean novels that can be read from Chinese Diaspora's perspective revealed two things. First, the issue of diaspora research is implicated in the shape of the old Chinese diaspora in korea, which is reproduced in Korean modern and contemporary novels before the Korea-China diplomatic relation. Second, the narrative interest and representation of the new Chinese diaspora in Korea, which entered Korea after the Korea-China diplomatic relation, is gradually being achieved. However, literature and research on the Chinese diaspora in korea are not yet extensive, so it can be said that the diaspora research is also in a niche. Based on this preliminary work, this paper analyzes the pattern of Chinese diaspora reproduced by Park Bum-shin's Yuri and Jeong Lee's You don't know. The results of the analysis of the contents and composition of the two novel texts are as follows. The implications of Park Bum Shin's Yuri are as follows: First, the hybrid identity of the Chinese diaspora in korea should not be discussed from a national perspective, but should be understood in consideration of the wounds of East Asian history. Second, the identity and citizenship of the Chinese diaspora in korea are historical contexts that cannot be classified as trade / commercial diaspora. And the implications of Jeong Lee Hyun's you don't know First, we can confirm the identity chaos and the unsettled life of the second generation of Chinese who lies on the boundary between the old Chinese diaspora in korea and the new Chinese diaspora in Korea. Second, it uses a mystery narrative form to awaken (as incomprehensible object) the otherness of the Chinese diaspora in korea. Thus, the two works provide a cultural opportunity to understand the wounds and pains of the chinese diaspora in korea who be otherization in Korean modern history and to create possibilities for new communication.
