초록

This paper has a goal of seeking the methodology of philosophical counseling (Philosophische Beratung) from the practice of philosophy (Philosophische Praxis) through the grounds of ‘meaning’ and associated analytics. The hermeneutic method to be applied in philosophical counseling is defined as a ‘sympathetic’ attempt in which the client actively understands and interprets their whole life by examining the client’s emotions, actions, accidents, hopes, and desires through an overall existing method of ‘testing’. This method can be usefully utilized greatly in philosophical counseling as an attempt to actively understand the client through the client’s life and encounters in a special and universal context; that is, through the background of political, social, and personal situations. However, varied research regarding the emergence of hermeneutics as a foundation of the methodology in philosophical counseling is not accomplished in our country yet. Moreover, it is a creative counseling methodology in which the concept of ‘transcendence’ applied as the foundation of philosophical counseling methodology is hard to find inside and outside. For the last step of this methodology to be applicable, this paper will contemplate the last step of this methodology by prioritizing ‘meaning’ as an importance in philosophical counseling from a counseling process, in which necessary concepts that are demanded are ‘language’, ‘others’, ‘sympathy’, ‘understanding’ and ‘meaning’.
