近畿지역의 고대 백제계(韓系) 이주민의 연구 (A study on the ancient immigrants from Baekje(Korean peninsula) in the Kinki region)

초록

본론은 서기 3세기에서 6세기를 대상으로 한반도와의 문화적 교류와 이주민이 일본 열도의 사회와문화에 미친 영향에 대해 논한다. 토기 자료를 중심으로 한일 이주민이 수행한 역할을 정리하면, 이주민의 역사적 역할은 3세기에서 4세기 초엽의 교역에서 5・6세기의 인적 교류와 정착을 통한 기술과 지식의 도입으로 이행된다. 또한, 중기 말부터 후기 사이에는 백제를 통한 한반도계 이주민의 존재도 뚜렷해지고 있다.
한인 이주민들이 재래사회에 끼친 영향은 취락유적 발굴조사와 연구를 통해 실증할 수 있다. 본론에서는 奈良縣의 新堂유적, 布留유적, 兵庫縣 남서부의 播磨지역을 다루었다. 新堂유적에서는 수륜연대보정분석을 통해 5세기 초엽을 나타내는 河道 출토 항렬과 풍부한 한반도계 토기가 출토되었고, 鍛冶 관련유물과 말뼈 등이 수반되었다. 수공업 식산과 한반도계 이주민의 밀접한 관계성을 엿볼 수 있는 사례이다. 布留유적 사례연구에서는 5세기부터 6세기에 걸쳐 수공업 생산의 확충과 지역개발을 권력기반으로유력 호족들이 대두하는 과정이 밝혀졌다. 또 播磨지역 분석으로는 한반도계 이주민들의 거주 유적이 훗날 고대 육로로 이어질 가능성이 제기됐다.
이러한 이주민을 통한 문화교류와 사회 자본투자는 왜의 고대국가 형성에 크게 작용했다고 생각한다.

영어초록

In this paper, the author considers the effects that cultural interaction wit h and immigration from the Korean peninsula had on the society and cultu re of the Japanese archipelago from the 3rd to 6th century AD. Considerati on of the historical role of immigration from the Korean peninsula based o n an analysis of pottery reveals that while trade was prominent in the 3rd t o early 4th centuries, the 5th and 6th centuries witnessed a significant shift to the actual movement and settling down of people, leading to the introduc tion of new technology and knowledge. Additionally, from the end of the Mi ddle Kofun period to the Late Kofun period, the existence of immigrants fro m China, through Baekje, has come to light in recent years.
The influence of immigrants from the peninsula on local society can be a scertained through archaeological excavation of and research on settlement sites. In this paper, the author considers the Shindō site (Nara Prefecture), Furu site (Nara Prefecture), and the sites of Harima province in the southw estern Hyogo Prefecture. At the Shindō site, analysis of the tree-ring oxyge n isotope ratios of a row of wooden spikes from a river revealed that the a ccompanying Korean-style stoneware, ironworking objects, and horse bones belonged to the first third of the 5th century, suggesting an intimate relatio nship between the spread of craft production and immigrants from the Kore an peninsula. At the Furu site, the process by which a powerful elite group rose to power in the 5th and 6th centuries based on the expansion of craft production and regional development has been greatly clarified. Additionally, the Harima case study reveals the possibility that settlement sites populated by peninsular immigrants had strong connections to ancient roadways.
The author proposes that this cultural interaction and investment in infra structure supported by immigrants had significant influence on the ancient state formation of the Japanese archipelago.
