    초록

    Shindon(辛旽)’ record is largely political, so there is little research into his Buddhist ideas. According to the study by Lee Gye-pyo, Choi Yeon-sik, Shindon’s ideas on Buddhism were discovered to some extent, but still remain unresolved. Choi Yeon-sik claimed that he wanted to change Buddhism by succeeding the Buddhist policies of Gonminwang(恭愍王) to win the approval of Gonminwang’s Heavens Great Hundership Master. However, his studies are misleading, and there is a limit to his understanding of Shindon's Buddhist policies in a single tone by associating them only with overly political trends.
    In the 14th century, Goryeo Buddhism became popular in the first place, and Zen Buddhism became the leading denomination of Zen Buddhism. In addition, international exchanges took place in the center of the circle among Buddhists in East Asia, and the fishing boats became popular. Ganhwaseon(看話禪) was popular among the nobility, and its understanding and practice were as high as those of Zen master. On the other hand, although the tendency to deny Buddhism as heresy was growing with the acceptance of triathology, there was also a tendency to recognize Buddhism as a part of the theory of triumphalism. In addition, internal performance and theoretical interest emerged throughout the thought system.
    As such, the Zen meditation was popular, but the status of the Huayan school of Buddhism bell also remained constant. This aspect is shown in the fact that the influence of Huayan thought was not so small through data such as rituals, death sentences, and conflicts. In particular, Boyeonhaengwonpum(普賢行願品) were valued, which relates to organizational and practical trends. At the end of the Goryeo Dynasty, the Buddhist community was led by Zen Buddhism, and its status was also maintained. The focus of Buddhism's policies during the reign of Gonminwang was to strengthen the authority of the king, and the background of the changes according to the circumstances under which the Buddhist followers could not establish a firm foothold in the throne.
    It was during the 14th century when he took power and switched from Zen Buddhism, which was represented by TaegoBowoo(太古普愚) during the early years of Gongminwang’s reign, to Huayan school of Buddhism, which he replaced Cheonhee(千 熙) with Korean history. The changes in the Buddhist policies are attributable to the fundamental limitations in the Buddhist community’s response. It may be said that it originated from the fact that Buddhism could not actively respond to the rapidly changing political and social situations at the end of Goryeo since it could not establish a fundamentally independent social ideology.
