초록

본고는 그동안 구체적인 詩文의 특성을 가늠할 수 있는 문집이 알려지지 않았던 삼괴당 신종호에 대해 『고령세고(高靈世稿)』를 바탕으로 조선 전기 한시사에 있어 보다 더 풍요로운 논의를 하고자 시도되었다. 『고령세고』에 수록된 신종호의 文 15편과 詩 1,000여수는 15세기 문학사의 구도에서 보다 실질적이고 예각화 된 논의를 하기에 충분한 자료라 할 수 있다. 이를 통해 신종호의 한시사적 위상을 새롭게 조명할 수 있는 계기가 될 것을 기대한다.
본고에서는 신종호의 시세계를 1) 歷史에 대한 관심과 비평, 2) 艶情時의 形象化와 風流的 면모, 3) 日常에서의 情感과 섬세한 묘사로 살펴보았다.
신종호는 최치원과 관련해 역사적 기록을 고증하거나 고려조의 패망한 역사를 읊기도 하였는데, 이러한 역사회고나 영사시를 통해 東國 문인으로서의 자부심을 표출하기도 하며, 당대의 간신이 끼친 망국의 鑑戒로 삼고 있다. 한편, 신종호는 여인에 대한 묘사와 그와 관련된 소재, 혹은 남녀사이의 감정 등을 솔직하고 대담하게 표현하고 있다. 여성에 대한 사랑과 이에 대한 정감의 표현을 적극 활용하고 향유한 것으로 미루어보아 당대 사류들의 자유분방하고 탄력적이었던 사유를 엿볼 수 있다. 이 뿐만 아니라 일상에서의 다양한 인간 정서를 애상적이고 자유롭게 표출해 내고 있다는 점을 특징으로 들 수 있다.
신종호는 20세 이전 用事를 즐겨 쓰고 詩語가 奇異하고 험벽하였으나, 이후에 唐詩를 배워 젊었을 때의 시풍을 변화시켰다고 평가 받았다. 비교적 20세 이전에는 作詩에 대한 학습차원에서 宋詩를 짓거나 강서풍의 시와 가까웠음을 짐작할 수 있다. 그러나 이상적인 學詩 기준은 역시 唐詩를 염두에 두고 이에 나아갔음을 알 수 있었다. 여기서 또 하나 중요한 점은 唐詩만을 고집하여 근체시만 짓는 사람들과 구분하고 있다는 점이다. 앞서 살펴본 바와 같이, 신종호의 시는 詩體면과 주제적 양상에서 다양하고 개성적인 국면을 보여주고 있다. “備兼衆體”라는 표현은 한 방면에 국한된 것이 아니라 여러 체를 넘나들며 갖추어 결국 독자적인 시적 경지를 이루었음을 뜻한다.
본고에서는 신종호의 당대 현실인식에 대한 측면과 문학관 등을 다양하고 폭넓게 다루지는 못하였다. 구체적이고 미진한 논의들은 차후의 연구를 기약한다.

영어초록

This study was attempted to make more copious discussions on the history of Chinese poetry during the former period of Joseon on the basis of Goryongsego by Samgoedang-Shin, Jong-ho, whose collection of literary works that enables us to make a guess about the characteristic of substantial poem and prose has been in obscurity up to the present.
Shin, Jongho’s 15 writings and about 1,000 pieces of poetry works included in Goryongsego can be judged to be sufficient enough to have a discussion at more practical, acutely-angled level in the composition of the history of the 15th century literature. Through this process, it is hoped that Shin, Jongho’s position in Chinese poetry history could get a new light. This research looked into Shin, Jongho’s poetry world by narrowing down to 1]interest and criticism of history 2]embodiment of romance poetry and poetical aspects 3] emotion in daily life and delicate description.
Shin, Jongho did historical research on documents about Choi, Chi-won and also recited the history of the collapse of the Goryeo dynasty. Through such a historical recollection or poetry on historical facts or characters, he expressed a pride as a literary person of the Nation of the East and set an example from treacherous subjects-affected national ruin at that time. On the other hand, Shin, Jongho frankly and boldly expressed a woman, its related materials, or feelings between man and woman.
Thus, we can take a glance at carefree, elastic thinking of the literary scholars at that time in that they positively used and enjoyed the expressions of a woman and their emotion. On top of that, it is worthy to be noted down as a characteristic that they expressed diverse human feelings in everyday life in a sorrowful and free way.
Shin, Jongho enjoyed writing by quoting remarkable expressions used by others in his 20s, and his poetic languages were queer and abstruse, but afterwards, he learned the poetry made in the Tang dynasty, being rated to change the poetic style in his youth. Thus, we can make a guess that he might make poems prevailing in the Song dynasty at a level of learning of verse making or his poetry was close to the Gangseo style.
However, he made mention of the fact that he proceeded with his poetry works bearing the poetry in the Tang dynasty in mind as an ideal standard. One more important point is that he distinguished himself from those who only made Geunche poetry[Chinese poetry adopting strict rules in writing]persisting in the poetry in the Tang dynasty. As examined previously in this research, Shin, Jongho’s poetry is showing diverse, individual phases in both poetic format and thematic aspects.
The expression of “Being endowed with several formats” means that one’s poetry works are not limited to one side, but achieve an independent poetic stage with multiple poetic formats equipped.
This research didn’t deal with Shin, Jongho’s perception of the realities at that time and view of literature diversely and extensively, though.
This research cordially promises the follow-up study on substantial discussions and the ones that still remain to be desired.
