白軒 李景奭 祭文의 構成 技法 硏究 (A Study on the Constructing Techniques in the Ceremonial Writing of Baekhun Yi Kyong-seok)

초록

본고는 白軒 李景奭(1595~1671)의 산문 중 祭文의 구성기법을 분석하였다. 그 중 친족제문을 중심으로 서사와 본사, 결사의 構成 技法을 연구하였다. 백헌의 제문은 매우 다양한 문체로 창작되었다. 제문에 쓸 수 있는 모든 문체를 적용하여 散文, 六言, 四言, 騈儷文, 辭賦體, 散文+辭賦의 혼용 등 다양하게 작품을 창작하였다. 즉, 청탁이나 의례적 관계의 경우 四言句로, 騈儷文에 능한 대상자는 변려문으로, 辭賦에 능한 대상자는 사부로 창작하였다. 直系卑屬의 경우는 제목에서부터 타인과 달리하였다. 슬픔의 정도가 깊은 친족의 경우는 대부분 산문체로 창작되어 있으나 비속이더라도 며느리의 경우는 제문의 일반적인 문체인 4언구로 창작하였다.
백헌은 제문을 창작하면서 서사에서 일반적인 형식을 취하지 않았다. 대상자와의 구체적인 관계를 언급하거나 인품이나 문장, 공적의 기술, 애도 술회와 전형적 기술 등 사실과 感性 表現의 기술 방식을 선택하였다. 본사에서는 대상자와의 因緣이나 生平, 逆理에 대한 怨望, 悔恨과 自歎의 표현, 亡者에 대한 慰勞 등 망자와의 관계에 따른 인연과 회한을 중심으로 구성하였다. 결사에서는 대상과 자신에 대한 위로와 사후 再會의 약속을 통해 哀而不悲의 심정을 토로하는 형식으로 구성하였다.
따라서 백헌 제문은 문체의 적용과 構成技法面에서 망자와 자신의 관계는 물론 표현 방식에 이르기까지 다양한 構成技法을 적용하고 있다. 내용면에서도 인연과 회한을 중심으로 망자와 자신을 위로하는 독특한 表現技法이 사용되었다, 따라서 격식을 중시하는 제문이 아닌 哀傷感에 중점을 둔 제문을 창작하였다.

영어초록

This study tried to analyze constructing aspects and literary styles of the ceremonial writing which is one of the proses written by Baekhun Yi Kyong-seok(1595~1671). This paper investigated the constructing technique of descriptive introduction, narrative body and ending in the ceremonial writing for kinship written by Baekhun. Baekhun employed a wide range of literary styles for his ceremonial writing. He applied all the literary styles possible for the ceremonial writing like prose, Yugeon which is six-letter-Chinese poem and four-letter-Chinese poem, four and six letter-Chinese poem, Sabu literature, combination of prose and Sabu. In other words, he adhered the basics in the ceremonial writing and applied various literary styles accordance with objects for writing. He applied four-letter-Chinese poem style for requesting or describing a courtesy relation. For people who are good at Byeongnyeomun, he wrote a letter with Byeongnyeomun style which is four and six letter Chinese poem. Also, he applied Sabu writing for the people who are proficient with it. He wrote different titles for his own direct descendant. He wrote a ceremonial writing with a prose style for describing deep grief for his close relatives but applied a basic four-letter-Chinese poem style for daughters-in-law.
He did not apply a basic form for describing in his ceremonial writing. He mentioned detailed relationship to people and described their personalities or accomplishments in the writing. He chose different writing styles for expressing emotions and facts accordance with objects for mourning by describing their appearances and characters. This paper put a great importance on the karma and repentance accordance with the relation with the deceased. Karma and life, resentment against irrationality, regret and grief and consolation to the deceased in his ceremonial writing were investigated for this study. At the latter part, Aeibulbi which means sorrowless sadness was described with a consolation to the objects and himself and a promise longing for reunion after death.
Therefore, he applied characteristic construction techniques for his ceremonial writing from describing relations between the deceased and himself to expressing methods in application of writing styles and construction technique aspects. In aspect of content, he used unique expressions focused on karma and repentance for consoling the dead and himself. He put a great importance on emotional grief not a formality in his ceremonial writing.
