네트워크 분석을 통한 공공자전거 따릉이의 이용특성에 대한 연구 - 서울특별시 노원구 대여소를 중심으로 - (A Study on use Characteristics of Public Bicycles Ttareungyi based on Network Analysis - focused on Nowon-gu, in Seoul -)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 도시 문제 해결을 위해 서울시에서는 공공자전거 따릉이와 대여소를 운영 중이다. 대여소 설치 단계에서는 이용자의 행태를 조사하는데, 기존의 조사는 이용목적을 파악할 수 있는 실제적인 이동경로와 방문장소를 다루지 않았다는 한계가 있었다. 이에 공공데이터를 활용하여 사회네트워크 중심성 분석, 이용 특성, 이동경로 시각화 분석을 함으로써 현행 조사의 한계를 보완하는 데 목적을 두고자 한다. (연구방법) 본 연구에서는 대여이력 공공데이터를 연구의 자료로 활용하였으며, 대상지는 서울시 노원구, 시간적 범위는 2017~2019년으로 설정하였다. 문헌고찰을 통해 공공자전거의 개념과 국내 공공자전거의 운영 현황에 대해 살펴보였다. 그다음 대상지 내의 주요 대여소를 알아보기 위해 사회 네트워크 중심성 분석을 하였으며 연도별로 상위 3개 대여소를 도출하였다. 이용특성을 파악하기 위해 인구통계적 특성, 주변 시설 현황, 이동경로, 방문장소를 조사·분석하였다. (결과) 1) 연도별 중심성 분석 결과 7호선 인근 대여소의 중심성이 높았으며, 해마다 이동 반경이 증가하였다. 2) 주요 대여소는 주거, 여가, 상업, 교통시설 등 기반 시설이 밀집된 곳에 있었다. 3) 주요 대여소의 이용자는 같은 대여소에 대여·반납하는 빈도가 높았으며, 대여·반납 대여소 일치 여부에 따라 이용특성에 차이가 있었다. 4) 다른 대여소에 반납할 때 70%는 10분 이하, 2km 이내의 짧은 거리를 이동하였으며, 같은 대여소에 반납할 때에는 30분 이상 대여하는 경우가 많았고 이용 시간보다 비교적 짧은 거리인 2~4km를 이동했다. 이는 이용 중 정차한 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 5) 방문장소의 차선 규모는 1, 2차선, 건물 용도는 상업용, 주거용, 미분류 같은 여러 건물들이 혼재되어 있다. (결론) 본 연구는 실제 이동경로를 분석함으로써 따릉이가 좁은 골목길에 위치한 장소를 연결하는 교통 연계수단으로 활용되며 상권 활성화와 시설 편중, 교통체증 해소에 도움을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 의의는 대여소 이용행태 파악에 있어서 현행 조사의 한계를 사회 네트워크 분석과 시각화 분석이 해결할 수 있는가를 확인함으로써, 이용특성과 이용목적을 파악하였다는 데 있다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) To solve urban problems, Seoul operates Ttareungi and rental stations for public bicycles. In the installation stage, the behavior of users was investigated, but the existing survey was limited as it did not deal with actual movement routes and places of visit that could identify the purpose of use. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to supplement the limitations of existing research by using public data to analyze the centrality of social networks, characteristics of use, and visualization of movement routes. (Method) In this study, public data on rental history were used as the research data. The target location was Nowon-gu, Seoul, and the time range was 2017-2019. Through a literature review, the concept of public bicycles and the current state of their operation in Korea were determined. Next, a social network centrality analysis was performed to identify the major rental stations within the target site, and the top three rental stations were derived by year. To understand the characteristics of use, demographic characteristics, status of surrounding facilities, movement routes, and places of visit were investigated and analyzed. (Results) 1) In the analysis of centrality by year, the centrality of rental stations near Line 7 was found to be high, and the radius of movement increased each year. 2) Major rental offices were located in densely populated areas, such as residential, leisure, and commercial areas and transportation facilities. 3) Users of the major rental stations frequently rented and returned to the same rental station, and there were differences in the usage characteristics depending on whether the rental and return stations were the same. 4) When returning to another rental station, 70% of the users traveled a short distance of less than 2 km that could be reached within 10 min. When returning to the same rental station, users often rented for more than 30 min and moved 2 to 4 km, a relatively shorter distance than the usage time. This can be expected to cease during use. 5) The lane size of the visiting location was one or two lanes, and the use of the building was mixed with place of visit including commercial, residential, and unclassified buildings. (Conclusions) By analyzing the actual movement routes, this study found that Ttareungi is used as a transportation link to connect locations in narrow alleys, revitalize commercial areas, and relieve the concentration of facilities and traffic congestion. This study is significant as it confirmed that social network and visualization analysis can solve the limitations of the existing survey by identifying the usage behavior and purpose of rental stations.
