초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the operational excellence of sports cluster built in 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do using the DEA model. To derive reliable study results, input variables were the whole area, the total expenses of construction, the number of possession, and maintenance expenses of public sports facilities and output variables were the frequency of holding sports events, the number of participants in national sports events, and the number of participants in a winter camp. The following conclusions were drawn. First, input elements were different in the area and construction expenses of public sports facilities and all of them were high in the city unit. For output elements, the frequency of holding sports events, the number of participants in national sports events, and the number of participants in a winter camp were higher in city areas than county areas. However, some counties such as Gangjin, Jindo, and Haenam exceeded the average of city areas. Second, 9 cities and counties such as Gangjin, Gokseong, Gurye, Boseong, Yeosu, Jangheung, Jindo, Hampyeong, and Haenam and 14 cities and counties such as Gangjin, Gokseong, Gwangyang, Gurye, Damyang, Mokpo, Boseong, Suncheon, Sinan, Yeosu, Jangheung, Jindo, Hampyeong, and Haenam showed relatively high operational excellence of sports cluster for the CCR model for the BCC model, respectively. Third, the score distribution of the operational excellence of sports cluster was analyzed in cities and counties based on the DEA model. 9 areas for the CCR model and 14 areas for the BCC model showed operational excellence of 100 points. 16 areas(72.7%) for the CCR model and 17 areas(77.3%) for the BCC model showed the good score level of more than 60 points.
