청동기시대 북한강유역의 인구변동과 취락의 상관관계 (The Demography and Its Influence in the North Han River Basin on the Bronze Age)

초록

본고는 기존의 북한강유역 편년안을 중심으로 북한강유역의 청동기시대를 6단계로 구분하고, AMS탄소연대치의 빈도, 각 단계별 주거지 면적 및 노지수를 바탕으로 단계별 인구변동의 양상을 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 1단계(조기)부터 4단계(중기 전반)까지 세부적으로 인구수의 증감이 이루어졌을 수도 있지만 통시적인 인구변동의 흐름은 꾸준히 증가하는 양상을 보인다. 이후 5단계(중기 후반)부터 감소세로 돌아선 뒤, 6단계(후기)에 이르러 주거면적이 급속히 줄어드는 양상이 확인된다.
이와 같은 인구변동의 양상에는 생계경제의 변화가 중요한 요인으로 작용했을 것으로 보이며, 구체적으로는 수렵·채집중심에서 농경중심으로의 생계경제변화로 이해하였다. 더불어 인구변동의 영향에 따라 취락의 변천을 확인할 수 있는데 공방이라는 생산시설의 등장, 취락 내 저장수혈의 증가, 매장시설의 변천이 그 예라 할 수 있다. 변천 과정을 단계 구분에 따라 살펴보면 초기 농경의 도입과 함께 생산력의 증대를 추정할 수 있는 공방이 3단계(전기 후반)에 출현한다. 또한, 이른 시기에는 소수 확인되던 저장수혈이 4·5단계(중기)에 급속도로 그 수가 증가하며, 저장시설로 추정되는 굴립주유구도 함께 확인된다. 매장시설의 경우, 2단계(전기 전반)에서 석관묘가 최초로 확인된 이래, 석관묘→주구묘→지석묘로의 변천을 거친다. 매장시설의 변천은 가내 저장수혈 대비 가외 저장수혈의 증가양상과 맞물려 당시 취락 내 계층화가 배경으로 작용했을 것으로 추정된다.

영어초록

This study divided in the Bronze Age of the north Han River basin into 6stages. and then based on the frequency of the AMS carbon dating, the changing of dwelling areas and the number of stove, looked at the aspects of population changes.
As a result, although the increase or decrease in the detailed process from the 1st stage(early period) to the 4th stage(the first half of the middle period) may have taken place, the overall pattern of demography is steadily increasing. Since then, it has been declining since the 5th stage(the second half of the middle period), and the housing area has sharply decreased in the 6th stage(late period).
Changes in the living method seemed to be an important factor in the pattern of demography. Specifically, it was understood as changes in the living method from hunting·gathering to farming.
On the other the change of the settlement can be confirmed according to the influence of the population change, such as the emergence of a production facility called a workshop, an increase in pit storage in a settlement, and a change in a burial facility. At the transition process in stages, the workshop that can estimate the increase of productivity along with the introduction of early agriculture will appear in the third stage(second half of the former period).
In addition, the number of the outside pit storage that were confirmed in the early period increased rapidly in the 4th and 5th stages(middle period), and elevated building also confirmed. In the case of a burial facility, since the first observation of stone coffin tomb at the second stage(first half of the former period), it goes through the transition from the stone coffin tomb to the compartmental tomb to the dolmen. These changes in the burial mounds were associated with the increase in storage transfusions.
