개신교인 부부의 친밀감이 아동의 신앙발달에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study on the Influence of Marital of Christian Couples Intimacy on Their Children’s Faith Development)

초록

종교적 관점에서 신앙은 한 사람의 삶에 있어서 그의 존재 의의와 가치를 결정하는 핵심적인 요소이다. 이러한 신앙의 중요성을 인식한 부모들은 그것을 물려주고자 아동의 신앙발달에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 관하여 관심을 갖는다. 이러한 측면을 염두에 두고 본 논문은 종교심리학의 관점에서 개신교인 부부의 친밀감이 아동의 신앙발달에 미치는 영향을 질적으로 나타낼 수 있는 요소들을 발견하고 그 관련성을 설명하는 것을 목표로 삼았다. 유사한 주제로 연구된 내용이 있으나 실제 설문을 통한 데이터의 필요성 때문에 통계학적 접근을 연구방법으로 삼았다. 설문 문항은 모두 5점 서열척도로 구성하였다. 연구결과를 기술하면서 독립변수는 부부 친밀감과 부부 의사소통, 부부 애정표현을 하위 변수로 포함하는 친밀감이고 종속변수는 아동 신앙발달과 애타심, 심리적 안정감 및 신앙생활이며, 이를 통하여 아동의 신앙발달에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 검증한다. 통제 변수로는 성별, 연령, 학력, 수입, 결혼 년 수, 가족 구성, 자녀 명수, 부부의 나이 차이 등 8가지 항목이 선정되었다. 이 조사는 7살부터 10살까지의 아동이 있고 대전에 사는 100명의 기혼 부부를 연구의 대상으로 삼았고, 이 중 23개가 제외되었고 77개가 통계에 사용되었다. 요약하면, 부부의 개인적 특성이 아동의 신앙발달, 애타심, 심리적 안정감, 신앙생활에 영향을 미치는 요인으로서 수입, 결혼년수, 그리고 자녀 명수가 있다. 부모의 수입이 증가할수록 자녀의 애타심이 증가하였고, 자녀 명수가 증가할수록 자녀의 애타심이 증가하였다. 또한 결혼년수가 증가할수록 부모의 친밀감이 감소하고 자녀의 신앙생활은 소홀해지는 것으로 나타났다. 부부 친밀감이 큰 부모의 자녀들은 심리적으로 안정되며 신앙생활도 적극적으로 하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 특히, 의사소통이 원활한 부모의 자녀들은 전반적으로 신앙발달의 정도가 높았으며, 그 가운데 개신교교회에서의 활동이나 기도 생활 등의 측면이 더 발달하는 것으로 나타났다. 적극적으로 애정을 표현하는 부모의 자녀들은 심리적으로 더 안정된 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 부부간에 대화가 많고 적극적으로 애정표현을 하는 것을 보며 자라나는 자녀들은 심리적인 안정감을 느끼며 개신교교회 생활에도 적극적으로 참여하는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of marital intimacy of Protestant couples on their children in faith development from the perspective of the psychology of religion. Couple intimacy is an important factor in the development of early school-aged children. The way of communication and the way of having a relationship is closely observed and imitated by children. Children were basically supposed to receive the influence from their parents on faith development. The early school age is the fourth stage in the process of the eight development stages described by Erickson. Children at this stage begin to observe, analyze, and internalize an object or phenomenon. Above all, good examples and environmental impacts are needed for children at this stage. Faith is formed and experienced on the basis of intimacy. It is directly influenced by the process of forming an intimacy with God observing how parents form a close relationship with each other. Independent variables are intimacy, including the couple's communication and affection as sub-variables. Dependent variables include altruism, psychological stability, and faith life, which can be used to assess the level of the children’s faith development. 8 variables were selected for gender, age, education, income, marriage age, family composition, number of children, and marital age. The survey was made for 100 adults with children from 7 to 10 years of age in a married couple living in Daejeon. of these, 23 were excluded, and 77 were used for statistics. The questionnaire was composed of mainly 5 points scale. These are the conclusions obtained in this study. Couples’ communication and expressions of affection were related to the age, marriage age, and the number of children. As the ages increase, the level of talking about personal problems decreases, and the interest in each other also becomes decreased. In addition, as the years of marriage increase, the frequency of talking about personal problems, the degree of interest in each other, and the frequency of talking about personal secrets are all decreased. As the years of marriage increases, the degree of expression of affection decreases. As the number of children increases, the frequency of using nicknames decreases. This shows that efforts to maintain the intimacy of the couple are necessary. The children’s belief development, altruism, psychological stability, and faith life were related to the income, marriage age, and the number of children among the personal characteristics of the couple. It was found that the parents’ children, with great intimacy of the couple, had psychological stability and active religious life. Parents’ children who were able to communicate easily had a high degree of faith development overall. Parents’ children who actively express affection showed more psychological stability.
