    초록

    This research is designed to examine what changes students majoring in dance produce in terms of psychological well-being after partaking in a yoga program compared to what psychological states those students were in. The research takes the questionnaire method to verify what effects an eight-week yoga program has on twenty three students majoring in dance. The survey was conducted twice, before and after the program.
    For the final evaluation and verification of changes in the subjects' psychological well-being, Cronbach's α method is applied, which are as follows:First, comparing the life goals, the low factor of psychological well-being, before and after the yoga program shows a significant difference, indicating that the subjects tend to set higher life goals after taking part in the program (p<.05).
    Second, comparing the factor of positive self-awareness shows a meaningful difference, indicating that the subjects' self-awareness becomes higher after the program (p<.01).
    Third, comparing the factor of self-assertion shows a considerable difference, indicating that the subjects' self-assertion becomes stronger after the program (p<.05).
    Fourth, although the factor of positive thinking becomes higher after the program, the difference is considered to be insignificant.
    Last, although the factor of personal development becomes higher after the program, the difference is considered to be insignificant.
    To sum up, it is considered that the subjects by constantly participating in the yoga program have been able to promote both mental and physical health, to be aware of how to relieve stress, to acquire optimistic and positive thinking, and to enjoy sound university life, as a consequence. As such, it is found that yoga has positive effects on psychological well-being: life goals, positive self-awareness, self-assertion, optimistic thinking, and personal development, for instance. Also, this work reveals that the yoga program is deeply related to psychological well-being, which improves the quality of life, of those majoring in dance.
