촉각이 대체현실의 현실감에 미치는 영향분석 (An Analysis on Effects of Tactile Sense on the Sense of Substitutional Reality)

초록

최근 기존의 실제환경과 비슷한 환경을 구현하여 체험하게 하는 가상현실(VR Virtual Reality)과는 달리현실세계와 가상세계와 구별할 수 없는 단계에 이르게되었는데 이를 대체현실(SR, Substitutional Reality)이라고 한다. 이러한 대체현실(SR) 기술은 체험자의인지과정을 왜곡하여 기획자의 의도된 기억이나 경험을 실제 체험한 것으로 인식하게 만드는 기술이다. 이러한 대체현실(SR)를 구현하기 위해서는 3D입체영상은 물론 기계, 전자, 전기자동화 등의 모든 기술을 융합하여야 구현이 가능하다.
연구방법은 대체현실(SR)의 환경을 구축함에 있어서 인간의 오감각 중에서 시각과 청각은 물론 촉각에초점을 맞추었으며, 특히 촉각이 대체현실(SR) 환경에서 차지하는 비중을 정량적으로 측정하고자 4D시뮬레이터를 활용하여 비행체험 및 레프팅 체험 대체현실 시스템을 직접 개발하여 피험자에게 시각과 청각만으로 이루어진 입체영상콘텐츠와 촉감까지 느낄 수있는 체감 입체콘텐츠를 각각 체험하도록 한 후 설문을 통하여 촉각이 대체현실(SR) 환경에서 차지하는비중을 정량화 하였다.
서론에서는 연구의 목적, 배경, 방법 및 범위에 대하여 기술하였으며, 본론에서는 대체현실(SR)의 개념과 정의는 물론 4D시뮬레이터 개발의 전과정을 기술하였다. 결론에서는 피험자에게 시각과 청각만으로 이루어진 단순 3D콘텐츠와 촉감까지 느낄 수 있는 체감형 콘텐츠를 각각 체험하도록 한 후 각각의 설문을통하여 촉각이 대체현실(SR) 환경에서 미치는 영향이약 23%에 해당되는 것으로 분석되었다.

영어초록

In recent years, technologies have reached a stagein which the real world and the virtual world areindistinguishable unlike virtual reality that implementsand allows experience of an environment similar to theexisting actual environment, which is calledsubstitutional reality. Such a technology of substitutionalreality is a technology that distorts the cognitive processof persons who have experienced a reality and makesthem perceive as if they have actually experienced thememory or experience intended by the planner. Such asubstitutional reality can be realized by the convergenceof all technologies such as mechanics, electronics andelectric automation as well as 3D stereoscopic image.
As research methods, this study focused on thesense of touch as well as visual and auditory sensesamong the five human senses in establishing anenvironment of substitutional reality. And in particular,to measure the weight of the sense of touch in theenvironment of substitutional reality quantitatively, thisstudy used a 4D simulator to develop a substitutionalreality system for flight experience and raftingexperience directly to make subjects experiencecontents of stereoscopic images consisting of visual andauditory senses and contents of tangible stereoscopicimages that allow them to feel the touch as well,respectively and then it quantified the weight of thetactile sense in the substitutional reality environmentthrough a survey.
Introduction described the purpose, background,methods and scope of the study, and the main bodydescribed the entire processes of the development of the4D simulator as well as the concept and definition ofsubstitutional reality. Conclusion analyzed the effectsof the tactile sense on the sense of substitutional realitythrough a survey on the experience of the system.
