초록

주의류 고전적은 일찍부터 연구의 대상이 되었다. 다만 주의류 고전적 전반을 검토한 연구는 거의 없었다. 본고에서는 한국고전번역원에서 종합한 서목을 바탕으로 주의류 분류의 역사를 검토하고 그 외연을 한정하였다. 이어서 한국 주의류 고전적의 현황과 특징을 살펴보고 한국고전총간 주의류 수록대상 고전적을 선정하는 방안을 검토하였다.
정치편 주의류 고전적은 국왕과 신하 사이에 이루어진 국정 운영에 관한 국왕과 신하의 의견 및 논의를 편찬한 고전적이다. 중국의 경우를 먼저 살펴보면 임금의 명령은 집부(集部), 사부(史部)로 분류되었고 신하의 상달 문자는 집부로 분류되었다. 주의류 고전적에 대한 이해가 심화되면서 두 부류의 문헌은 하나의 분류로 통합되어 국사(國事)를 논하는 사부(史部)로 편입되었다. 한국의 경우, 임금의 명령은 어제(御製) 또는 어정(御定)으로 분류되었고 신하의 상달 문자는 중국과 마찬가지로 주로 집부로 분류하였다. 근대 목록에 이르러서야 주의류 고전적을 위한 분류가 마련되었다. 주의류 고전적은 국가 운영에 관련한 논의를 목적으로 한 고전적을 포괄한다. 그 편찬 목적이 아름다운 문장을 정선하는 데에 있다면 그 고전적은 주의류에 포함할 수 없을 것이다.
정치편 주의류에 해당하는 한국 고전적은 주의의 비율이 높은 점, 주로 사본으로 유통되었다는 점 등을 특징으로 꼽을 수 있다.
한국고전총간 편찬대상의 선정은 저작 주체, 저작 역할, 저작 시기, 간사 시기, 판본 사항, 저작 분량, 전통서목 및 현대서목에 수록된 횟수에 근거한 인지도 등의 평가기준을 마련하여 등급을 매기고 결과를 합산하여 만들어진 자료를 바탕으로 이루어진다. 이와 같은 기준은 고전적 평가의 기초적 근거가 된다. 수량화된 평가 방식은 작업자의 주관적 판단을 제한하여 선정 작업의 객관성을 확보한다. 물론 이러한 방식이 충분한 것은 아니다. 특정 분류에 적합한 기준을 더 개발하여 검토 과정에서 추가하여 보완할 필요가 있다.
한국고전총간을 편찬할 때 학계와의 연계가 필수적이다. 편찬대상 선정의 기준과 방식에 대해 자문이 필요하기 때문이다. 본고에서 제안한 한국고전총간 주의류 편찬 시론을 계기로 삼아 주의류 전반에 대한 연구가 활성화 되고 한국고전총간 편찬의 기초가 탄탄해지기를 기대한다.

영어초록

The classics of Juui-ryu(奏議類) have been the subject of study from an early age. However few studies have reviewed its overall contents. In this paper, we reviewed the history of classification of Juui-ryu and limited its extension based on the list colligated by the Institute of Translation of Korean Classics. Subsequently we examined the current status and features of Korean classics of Juui-ryu and discussed ways to select the target of 『the Comprehensive Publication of Korean Classics Collections in Classical Chinese』.
The classics of Juui-ryu is the text about governmental discussion between the king and his ministers. In China, the books containing the Emperor’s words were classified into literature section(集部) or history section(史部). The books containing the ministers’ proposals were classified into literature section. When the understanding was deepened, both kinds of books were classified into history section. In Korea, the books containing the King’s words were sorted into the imperial category(御製, 御定) and those of the ministers’ proposals were included in the literature section(集部) like in China. We were unable to find an appropriate category for Juui-ryu until the catalog of modern times. Juui-ryu encompasses classics from the perspective of discussions on national operations. Therefore the classics for selection of good articles are excluded from Juui-ryu.
The Korean classics of Juui-ryu have the following features: among them the proportion of the ministers’ proposals is high and those were mostly circulated in the form of manuscripts.
To select the targets for 『the Comprehensive Publication of Korean Classics Collections in Classical Chinese』, we set up evaluation criteria of author, role, era, edition, volume and level of recognition. These criteria are the sources for the selection. This quantified evaluation method limits the possibility of the worker making subjective judgment and thereby secures the objectivity of the selection work. But this is not enough. It is necessary to develop some appropriate evaluation criteria for specific categories.
It is also crucial to keep in close contact with the academic world for consultations about the evaluation criteria and method for the selection of the targets for the Comprehensive Publication of Korean Classics Collections in Classical Chinese』, We hope to carry out more research into Juui-ryu and to lay a firm foundation for the publication of 『the Comprehensive Publication of Korean Classics Collections in Classical Chinese』.
