초록

The purpose of this study was to examine if the role of the leader in the Sport Organization influenced to the empowerment and organizational performance. Using the multi-stage stratified random cluster sampling method, 722 subjects were recruited from people who belonged to the public benefit organization, service organization, and business organization in the metropolitan. The role of the leader was evaluated through the survey questionnaires, which was originally designed by Nanus (1992) and Tushman & Nadler (1986), and modified by Kim & Cha (1994). The data for empowerment was collected through the questionnaires designed and modified by Spreitzer (1996) and Park (1998), respectively. Lastly, the data for organizational performance was collected through the questionnaires designed and modified by Price (1986) and Cho (1992), respectively. Our results were obtained as follows:
In first question that the role of the leader in sport organization influenced to empowerment of the members of organization, the leader's role partially influenced to the empowerment.
In second question that the role of the leader in sport organization influenced to organization performance, the leader's role partially influenced to organizational performance
In third question that the empowerment by the role of the leader in sport organization influence to organizational performance, the empowerment partially influenced to organizational performance.
Lastly, there was a cause and effect relationship among leader's role, empowerment, and organizational performance in sport organization. In conclusion, this causal model fits well with empirical data.
