    This paper purposes to investigate positively land reform, which developed in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan metropolitan city, based on related materials of land reform from the collection of Sangbuk-myeon. In doing so, it will focus on a distribution of farmland and repayment of land prices.
    The fact-finding for farmhouse began in the later June 1949, and was continued until December for a whole 5 months. As a result of fact-finding, it revealed that the tenant farm was 601,080 pyeong(15.3%), and the landed farm was 3,326,742 pyeong(84.7%) in Sangbuk-myeon. The proportion of the tenant farm to the landed farm was a great difference, given the fact that the tenant farm was 63.2%(2,513,700pyeong), and the landed farm was 37.8% (1,458,300pyeong) in 1939. Like this, the reason why the landed farm increase and the tenant farm decrease is that the landowner has sold the tenant farm after Independence from Japan until June 1949.
    The Sangbuk-myeon sent out notices of the reserved farmland for dividing from April 9, 1950, received objections against the distribution of farmland since the later April, and actually concluded the distribution of farmland about the outbreak of Korean War. In doing so, a scale of distribution farmland was about 439,751 pyeong, and the general farmland of these was 356,446 pyeong, while the government-vested farmland was 83,305 pyeong. Before land reform, the tenant land was 583,320 pyeong and about 75.4 percent of these was distributed. The farmland except for distribution was more than 149,202 pyeong.
    The repayment of land prices began in the summer crops of 1950, and ended in the early 1960s. Until 1954, the termination of legal payment, the total proportion of payment was about 78.9%. This is more than about 8.4% the nation's the average rate of payment 70.54%. The proportion of payment was 95.5% until 1958.
