고령자들의 좌식행동이 산화LDL 및 심혈관질환 위험요인에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Sedentary Behavior on Oxidised Low-Density Lipoprotein and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Older Adults)

초록

Oxidised low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is considered a risk marker for cardiovascular disease. However, it remains unclear whether oxidised LDL concentrations relate with the sedentary behavior in older adults. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the sedentary time and oxidised LDL in older adults. Total of 36 older adults (aged 70.3±0.8 years, mean±SEM; 21 female and 15 male) were analysed in the cross-sectional design. Prior to the blood collection, participants were asked to wear an uniaxial accelerometer for 4 consecutive weeks for the determination of physical activity status. After a 48-h period of physical activity avoidance and a 10-h overnight fast, fasting venous blood samples were obtained from each participant. Fasting plasma oxidised LDL concentrations was positively correlated with the sedentary time (r=0.421, P=0.010). Contrastively, the sedentary time was negatively correlated with pre-heparin lipoprotein lipase concentrations in older adults (r=-0.376, P=0.024). This study demonstrates that high amount sedentary time may influences on cardiovascular disease risk markers in older adults.
