2. General purpose for this subject
- Most information in the world is transferred in English these days. So people think English ability is indispensable in globalization. Learners should read, write, listen and speak English through the data related to the ordinary life in order to improve their ability. They can have interest and confidence in English through that way.
This unit gives students who reach the age of puberty chances to confirm the love of their parents and to express their gratitude to them through the boy in the text. (This boy recognized his father`s love too late.) Also it makes students try to resemble their parents or heroes by learning about many other great people.

3. General aims of this subject
1) Comprehension
· Students are able
- to ask somebody a permission to do something.
- to express their feelings when they find something hard to believe.
- to activate their background knowledge and relate their personal
experience to the unit topic.

2) Function
· Students are able
- to use pronoun `What` when they want to emphasis something.
- to pronounce the sound [f] and the sound [v] naturally and correctly.
- to pronounce linking vowels properly.

3) Attitude
· Students are able
- to have opportunity to think about their parents` love.
- to get more and more interesting in English.
- to concentrate on this class.
