1. When we use the term ‘culture contents’, which specific contents categories can be covered by the term? Using an example case of “Lion King”, list all possible culture contents categories that we can think of from the title.
Recognizing ‘OSMU’ (one-source-multi-use) as a theoretical marketing strategy is due to the rapid progress of recent science technology that caused a break in the limits between different types of genre. Simultaneously, the range of the fields that ‘OSMU’ is applied to has been expanded. Not, it has vast applications from games to comics, TV dramas, movies, animations, novels and plays.
Walt Disney is the most famous company using the ‘OSMU’ strategy most efficiently and widely.
‘The Lion King’ applied cultural items which they gathered through animation, their initial field of market, to various kinds of cultural industries and made a huge profit. In fact, Disney has been an ‘OSMU’ enterprise from the beginning. Simba could be found on children’s notebooks, pencils, and schoolbags, not only from in the form of dolls and toys. The profit from the worldwide market is uncountable, reaching astronomical figures. The game industry is not an exception. n King’ counts among Walt Disney works. It is an animated movie that tells the story of Simba’s adventure and love. ‘The Lion King’ is a must see movie of children of all ages. It is well known and loved all over the world even right now. Through the only one content of ‘The Lion King’, there could be so many culture contents categories such as OST, musical, and 3D movie.
