● R-expression (지시 표현)
An NP that gets its meaning by referring to an entity in the world.
실제로 의미를 갖는, 명사구. 대다수의 일반 명사구, 이름등.
● Anaphor (전방 조응사)
An NP that obligatorily gets its meaning from another NP in the sentence.
선행사가 있어야 의미를 갖는 대응어.
Heidi bopped herself on the head with a zucchini.
→ R-expression →Anaphor
● Types of Anaphors
Reflexive pronouns(재귀대명사) : ex)himself, herself, themselves.
Reciprocals (상호대명사) : ex) each other
● Pronoun (대명사)
An NP that may (but need not) get its meaning from another word in the sentence.
Typical pronouns : he, she, it, I, me ....
Art said that he played basketball.
→Pronoun
The word he can optionally refer to Art or it can refer to someone else.
*Herself bopped Heidi on the head with a zucchini.
An anaphor may not appear in the subject position of sentence.
