역사적 事實에 기원을 두고 있는 王昭君 故事는 오늘에 이르기까지 많은 문인 들에 의해 수없이 창작 소재가 되어 왔다. 元代 馬致遠의 ｢漢宮秋｣는 장르를 불 문하고 王昭君을 소재로 한 작품들 중에서 가장 經典的인 가치를 가진다. 따라 서 이후 敍事文學 특히 戱曲作品에 지대한 영향력을 끼쳤다. ｢漢宮秋｣ 이후 다양한 재창조가 이루어졌으나, 王昭君 素材는 시대의 변모에 따라 작가의 시대정신에 따라 항상 또 다른 모습으로 변화 발전되어 왔다는 점 이 특징이다. 이 중, 20세기에 와서 郭沫若과 曹禺에 의해 각각 창작된 同名 史 劇 ｢王昭君｣도 이러한 특징을 가진 대표적인 예다. ｢漢宮秋｣는 元代의 첨예한 민족 모순을 바탕으로 망국의 한과 민족의 절개 등 이 표현된 작품이었다면, 郭沫若의 ｢王昭君｣은 중국의 신문화 운동이 활발하게 전개되던 1920년대를 배경으로 여성해방과 여권의식의 시대성이 반영된 작품 이라고 할 수 있다. 반면에 1970년대 曹禺의 ｢王昭君｣은 그 당시의 정치현실을 반영하여 ‘민족단결’을 강조한 작품이라고 할 수 있는데, 특별히 조우의 작품은 당시 정치 지도자 周恩來의 ‘지시’에 의해 수동적으로 창작되었다는 점에서 다 른 작품과 차이점이 있다. 따라서 조우의 작품은 정치적 도구로 활용하기 위한 창작이었다고 할 수 있다. 曹禺는 작품에서 ‘민족 단결’이라는 주제를 강하게 부각시키기 위하여 기존 王昭君 형상 및 故事를 몇 가지 측면에서 變容하여 그 목적을 달성하고자 하였 다. 첫째, 王昭君의 出塞 동기를 자신의 정치 이상에 따라 自願하는 것으로 變 容하였다. 둘째, 元帝와 單于를 明君化하여 긍정적인 모습을 부각시켰다. 셋째, 出塞 후 王昭君의 신분과 생활내용에 변화를 주고, 胡地에서의 생활 내용을 작 품의 절반 이상으로 안배하였다. 넷째, 和親 이후 漢과 匈奴간의 화목함을 구체 화하였다. 작품에 반영된 曹禺의 시대정신은 일면 타인에 의해 강요된 측면이 있기는 하 지만, 어쨌든 기존 작품에서 대부분 눈물 흘리며 가련한 모습을 보였던 王昭君 을 웃음 가득한 여성으로, 떠밀려 出塞하는 비극적 인물이 아닌 자신의 이상을 따라 용감하게 나아가는 여성 영웅으로 변화시켜, 20세기 다민족 국가 중국이 걸어야할 ‘민족단결’의 시대현실을 구체적으로 반영하였다.

영어 초록

The story of Wangzhaojun based on the historical realities has been written as a creative material by lots of authors. ｢Hangongqiu｣ by Mazhiyuan in Yuan Dynasty is the best one among many works which deal with Wangzhaojun regardless of genres. It has greatly influenced the especially plays since that time. Though various recreations has been made since ｢Hangongqiu｣, the materials of Wangzhaojun has been varied and developed with various shapes according to the times and the writers' spirit of those times. Among them, ｢Wangzhaojun｣ with the same title written by the different writers GuoMoruo or CaoYu in the twenty century is an noticeable example that has also these features. While ｢Hangongqiu｣, represented the grief and the solid spirit of the nation based on the conflicting contradictions of many nations in Yuan Dynasty, ｢Wangzhaojun｣ by GuoMoruo reflected the liberation of women and the right for women through the era spirit new cultural movement during 1920s in China and ｢Wangzhaojun｣ by CaoYu emphasized the unification of the nation based on the political situation of the era during the 1970s. In particular, The work of CaoYu is different from other works in that it was made passively by the direction of the politician ZhouEnlai. Therefore The work of CaoYu is seen as the means to serve a political purpose. In the work of CaoYu, in order to emphasize the topic of unification of the nation, he tried to achieve the purpose changing characters and stories of ｢Wangzhaojun｣. Firstly, he converted the motivation on leaving hometown into support it in accordance with his political ideal. Secondly, he described the kings of Yuandi and Chanyu as the great ones. Thirdly, he altered the status of Wangzhaojun after the motivation on leaving hometown and treated the lives spent in the deferent country covering more than one half of the work. Fourthly, he concreted the friendship between to countries after Han and Xiongnu became relatives. The era spirit of CaoYu reflected in the work is forced to express by other man; however, CaoYu reflected the era spirit very well converting Wangzhaojun as a heroine facing the realty bravely with her ideal. In other works, Wangzhaojun was usually described as a tragedic and weak woman leaving hometown with tears. Therefore, the work of CaoYu well reflected the real situation of unification of the nation in which China must solve many difficulties among multinations in 21 century.
