Every year, the national scholastic achievement examination for the college entrance had been a Korea’s permanent problems for decades. Also the educational error we have in Korea is very severe that we need to put in right before it is too late. The changes in policies, changes in grading scales and changes college’s preferences made all 12th graders in high schools to suffer from uncertainty. What’s really going on in Korea’s educations? Why it cannot be clearly solved out for one last time and just stick to it? Korea is harassing talented students from expanding their abilities after entering universities due to insecure policies.

As a first consideration, I can point out an early studying abroad for children as a problem. Increasing numbers of parents send their children to foreign countries for several years to study and bring them back to enter Korean colleges. This credits them to enter better universities in Korea in comparison to those who study in Korea for entire life. The number of students studying abroad is consistently increasing year after year as the date in the Korea National Statistical Office yearly announces. The parents consider this effort is more beneficial than only to depend on Korea’s public education to enter to colleges one desires or their parents might desire. The colleges in Korea, they give credits for the students who have studied abroad for several years and their examination is quite different to those to who have lived in Korea for life who are taking the national scholastic achievement examination for the college entrance. However, I’m not criticizing those credits given by colleges in Korea because those students definitely deserve those credits by living in overseas with going through many hardships and overcoming conflicts between cultural differences. The problem here is not the students but the parents who are trying to take an advantage of this structural benefit by sending their children abroad without any certainty and the students are being sacrificed to their parents’ will or selfishness.
