Background
Lyft is a TNC (transportation network company), providing a platform and service for connecting the drivers and riders, including ride-sharing (multiple passengers with different destinations), in very efficient and convenient way. Although the business is itself is innovative and causing a significant change in the ecosystem of transportation, and communing pattern, Lyft is not the first to the market. Uber is. Since Uber “created” the market, and Lyft “entered” after, the former took much higher market share. It was approximately 75% for Uber, 20% for Lyft, and 5% for others, as of September 2017.

Competition
Being the first pioneer, and with substantial gain in the market, Uber accumulated enormous wealth that enabled restless expansion, entering many international markets across North, Central and South Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Pacific. It became a large global company, valued at $68 billion in 2015. Meanwhile, Lyft yet entered any international markets. And its value was $4 billion in the same period (one twenty seventh of Uber).
