○ Syndetic (linked): the units are linked by the coordinating conjunction

○ When more than two units are linked by ‘and’ or ‘or’, it is usual to insert the coordinator once only

○ Coordination: the two units are on the same syntactic level (독립된 문장)
■ Ex) but

■ ex) he tried hard, and yet he failed (syndetic)
○ Subordination: one of the units is a constituent of a superordinate unit (독립된 문장 X)
■ Ex) although
