1. Introduction.
The multinational corporations in South Korea have grown rapidly over the past several years and E-learning providers have tried to improve the quality of e-learning and resolve customization issues to overcome employee’s reluctance to use e-learning as shown in below the market size of e-learning in years of 2003 and 2004.
As seen in the Table 1, the market of e-learning increased 20.56% in rate of increment from 2003 to 2004. According to Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy (2004), 56.81% of large enterprises are introducing e-learning courses, compared to only 24.71% of small and medium enterprises.
This table shows that the training divisions wanted to design a customized educational system that might contribute to the company’s competitiveness and meet employee’s needs and demand. (Ministry of Commerce, 2003). However, within the area of corporate e-learning, there is currently much debate about whether or not the e-learning should be really needed to the multinational corporations.
