본 연구는 미술과와 과학과의 교과통합수업인 ‘암석의 특징과 입체표현’ 수업을 설계하고 실
제 적용함으로써 미술·과학 통합수업이 학습자의 학습몰입도와 학업성취도에 미치는 영향을
알아보는데 목적을 두었다. 현대는 정보화시대로서 수동적이고 단편적인 지식의 습득 보다는
다학문간의 지식을 통합적, 융합적으로 활용하는 능력이 핵심역량으로 언급되고 있다. 이에
따라 본 연구에서는 미술과의 ‘입체표현’ 단원과 과학과의 ‘암석’ 단원을 연계하여 ‘암석의 특
징과 입체표현’이라는 주제를 선정하고 포가티(1991)의 통합모형 중 거미줄형을 적용한 지도
안을 개발하였다. 암석의 특징과 생성과정에 대한 과학과의 내용을 암석으로 제작된 미술작
품을 감상하며 이해하고, 암석생성원리에 따라 입체표현을 위한 재료를 직접 제작하여 입체
로 완성한다. 이러한 과학과의 학습내용을 미술의 감상활동과 표현활동에 실제적으로 활용해
보는 교과통합수업이 학습자의 몰입도와 학업성취도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자
하였다. 실험수업을 위하여 서울시 송파구에 소재한 A중학교 1학년 학생 48명을 연구대상으
로 선정하였으며, 24명의 실험집단에게는 미술과와 과학과의 교과통합수업을 적용하고, 24명
의 통제집단에게는 전통적인 분과식 수업을 실시하였다. 실험 처치 전후 석임복과 강이철
(2007)의 학습몰입도 검사도구를 번안한 검사지와 수업목표에 맞추어 개발한 학업성취도 문
항으로 검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 미술과와 과학과를 연계한 교과통합수업을 받은 실험집
단은 학습몰입도의 하위영역 변화가 분과식 수업을 받은 통제집단보다 높은 차이변화를 나타
냈으며, 학업성취도검사에서도 통합수업을 받은 실험집단이 분과식 수업을 받은 통제집단보
다 높은 정답률을 얻었다. 이는 미술과와 과학과의 교과통합수업 프로그램이 중학교 1학년의
학습몰입도와 학업성취도 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 나타낸다.

영어 초록

This study aims to explore the effects of the subject-integrated classes
between art and science on learning flow and learning achievement by designing
the classes of ‘the characteristics of rocks and cubic expression’ and applying it
into actual field. In the present era as information age, the capability to utilize the
multi-disciplinary knowledge in integrated and syntagmatic ways instead of
fragment ways is recognized as the core competence. Therefore, this study selected
the theme of ‘the characteristics of rocks and cubic expression’ by combining the
lectures on ‘cubic expression’ in art classes and the lectures on ‘rocks’ in science
classes through the analysis on the revised curriculum in 2009, and a teaching
plan according to the spider web-form by Fogarty(1991) was written. This study
planned to guide students to directly produce the materials for cubic expression
and express them according to the production principle of rocks. Such
subject-integrated classes attempt to examine how the actual experiences of
utilizing the knowledge affect the learning immersion and learning achievement of
learners as well as to provide scientific knowledge. For experimental classes, 48
students in the first grade in A middle school located in Songpa-gu in Seoul were
selected as research targets. The subject-integrated lectures between art and science
were applied to the experimental group of 24 students, and the traditional
disciplined lectures were applied to the controlled group of 24 students. The
analysis from the results revealed that the experimental group who received the
subject-integrated lectures between art and science showed higher difference gap
than the controlled group who received disciplined lectures in terms of the
sub-sector change of learning immersion. The experimental group who received the lectures for the two-integrated subject obtained higher percentages of correct
answers than the controlled group who received disciplined lectures in the test for
learning achievement to confirm the achievement of class objective per class
between art and science. Thus, it was verified that the subject-integrated programs
between art and science gave positive impacts on the improvement of learning
immersion and learning achievement of the first graders in a middle school.
