한국어 초록

오늘날 대학에서 다양한 학문적 연구가 이루어지고 있으나 대학에서 교수 방법이나 평가방법에 관한 연구는 찾아보기 힘들다. 그 이유는 대학의 교수들은 자신의 학문영역의 내용에관한 연구에만 관심이 있을 뿐 학생들을 가르치는 일에는 별다른 관심을 갖고 있지 않기 때문이다. 1973년 이후 한국대학의 학생수는 급격하게 증가했으나 그에 따른 교수요원의 확보가 미진한 점과 이러한 상황에서 교육방법의 내실화는 거의 포기한 상태에 있기 때문일수도 있다.이제 한국대학의 수준과 질도 어떤 형태로든 개선할 필요성을 느끼게 되었다. 따라서 교육의 질적개선을 위하여 무엇보다도 우선되어야 할 분야가 바로 교수방법과 평가방법의 개선이다.지금까지 우리나라 대학에서 활용되고 있는 교수방법은 대부분 교수가 학생에게 지식을 전달하는 일방적 통로로 이루어졌다. 그 방법에 있어서 강의식이나 설명식이 72.6%에 이르고있다(김종석, 1985). 이러한 강의식도 대부분 구두 전달방법이고 교수매체의 활용도 흑판과분필이 고작일 수 밖에 없었다.그리고 교수방법과 평가방법에 있어서도 교수들의 재량에 의하는 경우가 91%인데 반해 학생들의 의견이 반영되는 경우는 28.1%에 불과하다(김종석, 1989). 이와 같은 현상 때문에대학의 자율성은 결여되어 있고 따라서 학생들의 불만은 말할 것도 없고 교수들의 직무 만족도도 매우 저조한 편이다.그리고 본 연구를 학제적 연구로 추진한 이유는 본 연구가 대학에서 교육방법 개선을 위한연구이기 때문에 교수방법에 관한 이론적 근거를 바탕으로 하여 교양과정 또는 전공과정의교수방법에 적용하는 실험적 연구이기 때문이다. 따라서 교육학을 전공하는 교수와 교과지도를 담당한 교수가 공동연구하는 것이 보다 바람직하다고 판단되었다. 그리고 연구 자체를 위한 프로그램 제작은 교과영역에 대한 지식이 필요하고 교육공학적 지식이 함께 필요한데 이러한 능력을 함께 갖춘 교수는 구하기 힘들기 때문이다. 그리고 교수들에게 대학 교수방법 개선을 위한 선도적 역할을 담당하기 위해서는 단독 연구로는 불가능하다고 판단되었기 때문이다.

The purpos e of this study wa s to inv est igat e the effectiveness of Keller Plan model oncollege student ' s academic achievement , st imulating student motivation and monit oratt itu de t oward the Keller Plan .T he subject of this stu dy was a total of 70 colleg e stu dent s in g eneral edu cat ioncour s es in Chungnam Nat ional Univ er sity which con sist ed of 35 student s ofexper imental group an d 35 student s of control group. T he r esearch design wasn on - eqiv alent - cont rol group design due to th e fact th at the experment was con du ct edunder the condit ion of n atur al academic calen der y ear .T he keller Plan model wa s implement ed t o the exper imental group while th e lectur emethod t o the contr al group for 28 h our s (2hr ' s/W)each group.T he study guide of Keller Plan progr am dev eloped by inv esit iator was ba sed on th eint rodu ctory German cour se t ex tb ook for g en er al education .T he exper iment clas sroom the was ditr ibut ed by init ial 10 minutes lectur e andfollewin g 40 minut es in dividu al learnin g act iv it ies as study guide indicate. Alth ou gh st atist ically no scor e difer en ce was found, difer ence between twogroups appeared t o b e from 8.26 at the pretest t o 6.20 at post t est in which the s cor e ofcontrol group wa s incr ea sed at 2.06 at post test compar ed to the scor e of Keller Plangroup.T he second, the difference in withdrow r at e and ab sent r at e b etween two groups wer efoun d in which the withdraw r ate and ab sent r at e of Keller Plan student s wer e lowerthan th e cont rol group. T herefor e, the student s of ex per iment al group has more act iv etypar ticipat ed in the clas s act ivt ies th an the cont rol group did.T he third, att itu de t oward the Keller Plan model appear ed t o b e positiv e th ant r adit ional lectur e meth ed r eflect ed by Keller Plan stu dent s .T his stu dy con clu ded th at Keller Plan model can be applicable t o th e Kor ean univ er sitystu dent s an d would be effect iv e.T he r eason s that differ ence in academic achiev ement between two groups can beexplained as follw s :F ir st ly , both in st ru ct or and stu dent s h av e n ot accu stomed t o the Keller Plan while theyh av e r ather accu st omed t o t radition al lectur e method.Secon dly , programs dev eloped by Keller Plan in this stu dy might n ot hav e beenappropr iat e becau se th e effect iv en es s of for eign lan gu ge was not apparent . T he r esult sof pr eviou s stu dy showed th at th e degr ee of academic ach eiev ement by Keller Planappeared to be higher in su ch cont ent ar ea s as mathemat ics , en gn eer in g and p sy ch ology ,No r esear ch r esult with lan gu ag e an d for eign language cour se was foun d. Most ofeffect iv enes s studies wer e r epor ted in the cont ent areas such a s phy sics , biology , math ,engin eer in g , psy chology an d social scien ce cour se.T hirdly , tr eatment an d measur in g in st rument u sed in this study might not hav e beenappropr iat e becau s e in st ru ct or an d r esear cher might not be familar and accu st omed t othe Keller Plan in u sing stu dent proctor s and self - pacing approach . No st andardizedmea sur ing in st rument for th e German languag e was n ot foun d in Kor ea. T his stu dyshould hav e u sed the st an dardized German lan gu age t est dev eloped by in st itution s such as ETS and others .Lastly , the further stu dy should be r ecommended t o v alidate this result .
