An organisation is a social arrangement which pursues collective goals, which controls
its own performance, and which has a boundary separating it from its environment.
Mullins refers to Organization are ‘complex social systems made up of individuals
and groups oriented towards goal-seeking activities(1985)
Organization can be concepturaised formal or informal such as ‘Groups’or’Network’.
In this view, groups can be ordered pattern of social relations that can be described and
researched such as a family group. Network is the relationship which is less binding and
more temporal than social groups such as friends of friends.
Most of the early theories about organizational behaviour can be categorized into two
broad perspectives which r scientific management and natural system
Scientific sociologists assume that individuals are ‘rational’ actor and theories are focus
on structures of orgnaisations.
