1. Introduction
I will explain the Historical Analysis of OE, ME and ModE.
First, I will examine the background, sounds and spellings, and grammar and word order in Old English.
Second, I will examine the background, sounds and spellings, and grammar and word order in Middle English.
Last, I will examine the background, sounds and spellings and grammar and word order in Modern English.

2. Old English
2.1 Background
We are so accustomed to think of English as inseparable adjunct to the English people that we are likely to forget that it has been the language of England for a comparatively short period in the world's history. Since its introduction into the island about the middle of the fifth century (circa 449), it has had a career extending through only fifteen hundred years.
English has a short history since it is not originated from England. English was the language of Germanic tribes in Europe continent, not England.
English can be traced back to the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) Language. Scholars estimates this old language goes back to about 5,000 years ago.
