Quantitates the initial amount of the template most specifically, sensitively and reproducibly

Monitors the fluorescence emitted during the reaction as an indicator of amplicon production during each PCR cycle
(Amplicons are pieces of DNA formed as the products of natural or artificial amplification events)

Offers a much wider dynamic range of up to 107-fold
