1. INTRODUCTIONIn 2009, if you are not on a social networking site, you are not on the Internet. Social networking is the ultimate manifestation of user generated content, and holds more potential for growth than any other form of content on the Web today.
User Generated Content (UGC) and Social Networks are transforming the media ecosystem. Gone are the days when few content creators controlled the communication between advertisement and consumer. Today, consumer is the creator, consumer and distributor of content. There are a large number of content creators and distributors. The growth of technology and the popularity of social networking and UGC sites have changed the media landscape.
UGC enables marketers to reduce the costs of contents production and distribution. Recently, many global companies have sought new business opportunities in video sharing web sites so that they could achieve low cost and high efficiency through diversifying distribution channels. Video sharing web sites are expected to be the best innovative and promising business.
