Abstract
Homeschooling has not yet become a very familiar concept in many Asian countries, but it became quite popular in the western countries especially in the U.S. According to the recent statistics from PFI (the Parent and Family Involvement in Education Survey), there were 1.5 Million Homeschooled students in the United States in 2007. With the increasing numbers, it has raised many of controversial issues especially on the academic and socializing development.
This essay aims to analyze what kind of effects homeschooling can bring to the children from the perspective of academic and socializing development. Furthermore, my personal suggestions will be presented for a more desirable method of homeschooling.

Ⅰ. Introduction
As the sun rises every morning, most of the children from an ordinary family are forced to wake up early to prepare themselves for school. Since children spend most of their time in school, having been greatly influenced by both peers and teachers, the school environment is one of the most significant factors to form children’s personality and their behavior. Through school activities, children can gradually acquire not only academic knowledge but the concept of being a member of the society.
