본 연구의 목적은 Q 방법을 적용하여 웹 기반 교육에서 학습자의 심리적 구인인 학습자의 동기에 대한 유형별 주관성을 파악하고, 그 특성을 분석하는 것이다. Q 방법은 학습동기와 같이 각 개인의 경험이나 심리적 요인에 따라 다르게 의식할 수 있는 추상성이 높은 개념을 객관화하기에 유용한 방법이다. 연구자가 준비한 설문지로 33명을 대상으로 웹기반 교육에서 학습동기의 유형별 분석을 실시하였다. 웹 기반 교육에서 학습자의 학습동기 유형을 Q 방법을 통해 분석한 결과, ‘개인적 통제형’, ‘기능 지향형’, ‘외재적 보상형’, ‘내재적 강화형’의 4개의 유형으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 Q 방법을 교육공학 연구분야에 적용하여 대안적 연구방법의 적용가능성을 검증한 연구라는 점에서 연구의 의의를 찾을수 있다.

In Web-based instruction, learning motivation is the essential psychological component that enables the learners to participate in learning spontaneously and continuously.The most effective strategy of learning motivation would be provided after the students' motivation state is precisely measured in learning process and then prescribed according to the results. However, most results were abstracted from the condition with diverse variables under control, and then many meaningless conclusions in practical contexts have been produced on those results. For this problem of studies on learning motivation, it is required to adopt the alternative methodology to deal with the inner part of learners' consciousness well enough.In this study, the Q Methodology was used as an alternative one in order to identify the subjectivity through analyzing the components of Keller's ARCS model.The data were coded into grades from 1 to 9, and analyzed using QUANL program and Q factor principal component analysis method.The results of this study were as follows:First, In Q Methodology analysis, the types of learning motivation in web-based instruction are categorized into 4 types: the individual controlled type, the functionoriented type, the exogenous compensational type and endogenous intensified type.Second, the characteristics of each learning motivation type are analyzed and compared with those of another types. The 13 subjects in the first type group, the individual-controlled type, have the characteristics that they have high expectation and purpose of success in their learning in the web course, and exert their all competences to fulfill them. The 6 subjects in the second type, the function-oriented type, put the priority on the usefulness and advantage of taking the web course.The 1 subject in the third type group, the exogenous compensational type, has characteristic that he has the negative expectation about web course without any exogenous compensation. The 13 subjects in the fourth type group, the endogenous intensified type, that is the most ideal type, showed the most positive state of the learning motivation in the overall categories.key words : Type of learning motivation, Effective strategy of learning motivation.
