To succeed in today`s competitive marketplace, companies must be customer centred, winning customers from competitors, then keeping and growing them by delivering grater value. To satisfy these customers, a company must first analyse their needs and wants and behaviours towards the company. Thus, markets have to be understood before marketing strategy is developed. Within an industry there are two main markets B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-customer). Consumers act differently in relation to the market they are involved in so one market technique should be distinctly applied from the other. This essay is going to explore B2C and B2B markets. And it is going to compare and contrast sales promotion techniques used in B2C and B2B marketing.
